Morning Coffee with Jesus - January 27, 2010

Updated on January 26, 2010

 Greetings loved ones!

Today’s “Morning Coffee with Jesus” comes from Isaiah 41: 13.  "For I am the Lord, your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you."

I remember vividly, as a very little girl, getting lost in a department store.  The fear was tremendous.  I remember a lady approaching me, asking me if I was lost, taking my hand, and walking me up to the front of the store to wait safely while my mother was paged.  I can still recall my mother’s warm embrace and the comfort of feeling her hand in mine as we walked to the snack bar to get a cold drink while I calmed down from my ordeal.

This scripture reminds me that God is there with us, seeing us through every experience of our lives – good and bad. And, despite the anxieties we experience in every situation there is still a deep seated peace which we cannot ignore.

In my life, when I have been in situations that have been so extreme, God pulled me out of that situation just when I was getting to the point of not being able to go any further.   I'm sure you can think of times in your life when you were at your limit and God came in and gave you an "out" or gave you the strength to continue on.  It is comforting to know that the same everlasting Father who cares for you today will take care of you tomorrow and every day.  With that knowledge as your shield and sword today, move forward and keep on keeping on – holding tight to His hand every step of the way!

Have an awesome day in Jesus!  Go MAD in someone’s life today!

Stay sweet,
stay broken,
stay His!

Blessings,
E.

      Ann:

Isn't it amazing how quickly we forget that God is by our side moment by moment resulting in our fears mounting to the point of ulcers? Makes me often realize how weak my faith can be at times!

Thank you again for your comments.

      Ken:

Thanks for your comments. Psalm 139 is a favorite of mine too, and one which I cling to quite often. It provides such hope! Again, thanks for sharing.

Beautiful verse and good analogy, Elisa! Do not fear, we forget it's actually a commandment of God's, not a recommendation! And as you've pointed out in your hub with God by our side we have nothing to fear about!
