Morning Coffee with Jesus - January 29, 2010

Updated on January 29, 2010

Greetings loved ones! You made it to Friday!

Today's "Morning Coffee with Jesus" comes from Psalm 139:9-10. "If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast."

Did I tell you how much I love Psalms??  This book answers every question known to man - in 150 chapters.  Amazing!

These verses serve as a reminder that God knows us inside and out.  He sees not only our past and present, but our futures as well.  God knows what I need and therefore works things out so I can have what I need - not always what I WANT.  It is up to me to be satisfied with Him giving me what I need because His will should be my focus.

So often in this life, we try to compete with our friends, neighbors and our enemies!  We desire "bigger and better" as if those things will be the "I'll show THEM!" here on earth.  However, I have also met people who are satisfied with little and have a peace deep within that all the “toys” in the world could never create.

These people are not concerned with the latest and greatest - simplicity is best.  It is that attitude I try to adopt daily and understand that God, knowing me better than I know myself, is merciful to me in that I DO NOT get what I desire because it surely would take my focus off Him.

As you go about your day today, think about all that God has given you and all He has yet to give and to share with you.  Count your blessings, as the song says. Remain focused on His will, His desire for you, His love and His mercy.  And remember that God has His hands on you and he is NOT going to let you go - ever!

Have a fantastic weekend.  Go MAD in someone’s life this weekend.  I’ll see you back here on Monday for more “Morning Coffee with Jesus!”

Stay sweet,
stay broken,
stay His!

      thanks for your feedback Ann.

I understand and appreciate that God wants me to have just what I need, not always what I want! But, like the spoiled child that I am, I sometimes have a temper tantrum with my Heavenly Father! Go figure!!
