Morning Coffee with Jesus - November 17, 2009

Updated on November 17, 2009

 Greetings loved ones.

Today’s “Morning Coffee with Jesus” comes from Psalm 100:4.  Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.”

The wonderful hymn, “Count Your Blessings” has been running through my mind the past few days.  It is a great hymn about naming your blessings – counting them one by one.  However, the best part of the chorus is “See what God has done.”

It is easy for me to count my blessings.  I have much for which to be thankful.  If I began counting today, I would still be counting, with no repeats, on Thanksgiving Day!  But during this season of Thanksgiving let’s also remember why we have the blessings that we do.  We have blessings because of God’s grace and His abundant love.

God’s love gives me warm days and cool nights.  His love brings out the colors of autumn that hold me captive most sunny October days, begging me to linger in the sunshine just a little while longer.  His love saved me from eternal separation from Him.

God’s grace enables me to come to the cross to seek and find His forgiveness. His amazing grace reminds me daily that I am His child and no one and nothing can ever keep me from Him.  I am ever so thankful of this, more than anything else because I know that whatever happens in life, Christ is my anchor.

God has blessed me with beautiful children, a loving extended family, a comfortable home, two sweet cats, and so much more.

How about you?  How has God blessed you?  Have you begun counting your blessings?  On Thanksgiving Day, will you pause for a moment and give God thanks for all He has done for you, all He has provided for you, all with which He has blessed you?

This life, with all its cares, will pass away.  In the end, it won’t matter how much you owned, how many cars or houses or bank accounts you had, how much money you had or didn’t have.  Life is about relationships and the blessings that come with strong, intimate relationships are worth far more than “stuff.”

Today, “count your blessings, name them one by one.  Count your many blessings, see what God has done.”

Have an awesome day in Jesus.  Go MAD in someone’s life today.

Stay sweet,
stay broken,
stay His!
