Morning Coffee with Jesus - October 3, 2011

Updated on October 2, 2011

Greetings loved ones.It’s Monday!!

Today’s “Morning Coffee with Jesus” comes from Matthew 24:6-8.You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.”

A few years ago my friends Andy and Nikki came from England for a visit. Initially, when they called and told me they wanted to visit I suggested the second week of October because there is no prettier place on earth (in my opinion) than the northeastern United States in mid-October!

So I began to concentrate on preparing for their visit.I had my "to do" list and it was quite long and I worked diligently to get it all done in time!I knew that they were arriving at about 8:00 pm on the coming Friday evening.

In our above scripture, Jesus is giving us signs of when he will be visiting again.Even Jesus does not know the day or the hour but here He gives us a hint regarding what will be happening in the world surrounding the time of his coming.I don’t specifically know the time of Jesus’ return, so I want to prepare for His coming because I know He could arrive at any time.

Knowing that today could be the day, I prepare daily for Jesus’ coming by first having a personal relationship with Him. I have accepted that precious gift of salvation He has given me and we interact regularly. That means I read His correspondence to me (the Bible), and we chat regularly through prayer.

I prepare by watching the signs. The turmoil on the earth, wars and rumors of wars, nation rising against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, famines and earthquakes in various places – all indications that His arrival is near.

And, just as I shared Andy's and Nikki’s visit with you, I share with others Jesus’ visit.I tell others that my Friend is coming soon.I was very excited about seeing Andy and Nikki again. However, I am more excited about seeing Jesus again!

What preparations have you made for Jesus’ return?God does not ask us to prepare physically for His return because His kingdom is not of this earth. His kingdom is a spiritual one. If you have not prepared, do so!Establish a relationship with Him.Keep in touch with Him.(He really does respond!)Then watch and wait patiently. Because He has told us so, His arrival is imminent!

Have a totally awesome day in Jesus.

Stay sweet,
Stay broken,
Stay His!

Blessings,
E.
