Most valuable thing in Life!

Updated on October 26, 2012

Human values!

We assign values!

Each of us will give different answers, if we are asked about the most valuable thing in life. For some it may be wealth or properties, to some it may be gold and investments but very few consider "Peace" as the most valuable thing in life. Materials have no value inherently. It is we, who assign value to the materials. In this process, we forget the value of man and hence he is the most devalued being in the world and other things have skyrocketed. It is a pity that man do not realize his own value. Remember that we are basically immortal and the share holders of the Kingdom of God. Since man foolishly thinks himself as the body which is perishable, he is unable to understand his own value. This is the one of the main cause of 'high cost of living' every where.

Every man is the most priceless gem if i can say so. He is not valued by the paltry riches he possess. It is a question of identity. It is written in most of the scriptures about the "Fatherhood of God and brotherhood of man". We simply read it and do not contemplate on the Truth of it. Even in the ordinary mundane life, one become the legal hair to his parents. In normal course he inherit the properties of his parents unless if it is willed otherwise by the parents. In reality, God is the father of one and all and we are the legitimate share holders of His Kingdom. What is His Kingdom? What God have which he can pass on to us?

It is "Peace and Love". If you consider that the riches of the world as more valuable, then your estimate is wrong. Ask the richest man in the world whether he is really happy? He will confess that he do not have 'peace' and none really likes him. People surround him only to usurp his properties after his demise. Hence this wealthy man wants only 'peace' and he is ready to exchange any thing for the priceless peace. Unfortunately, peace can not be bought from shops. Where from we can get it? Definitely not from this illusory world and its riches. None can transmit their peace to us. Somebody came to Saibaba and implored to him ""I want peace". Then Saibaba told him "Remove the "I" and "want", then 'peace' is automatically yours. No it is not a joke. The "I" feeling(Ego) has to be removed first. What is 'want'?. It is nothing but 'desire'. Hence if you remove the ego and desire, 'peace' is automatically yours!

Some may doubt, whether it is literally possible to relinquish the ego principle. Yes, it is not so easy. We must eliminate selfishness from our feelings. This is possible only when we love all equally. Hence Saibaba has said, "Help Ever, hurt never! These are the basic lessons to start. Let us imagine that there are no human beings on the face of earth! Then who will assign values to the materials available on the face of earth? God has provided us everything "Free". He do not charge for anything, the air we breath, the water we drink, the earth we live upon and the space we occupy. It is man and then the society which started collecting charges for everything on the earth. Now we find that the Government charges every thing we use. They fix meters for water, electricity, internet, gas etc., But God has not fixed any meter on our body to charge for the things we use. We find trees giving shade to one and all, even to the man who axes it. Rivers quench the thirst of all beings on the way. Wind is always blowing giving us enough oxygen to survive. Cows give us milk. But we never show our gratitude to God. Though we possess intellect and discrimination, we do not reciprocate. But birds and animals preserve the ecology. But man does every thing to imbalance the ecological system and hence he has downgraded himself as the worthless!
