The Divine Message of Leonardo Da Vinci Masterpieces: The Last Supper and John the Baptist!
The painting of The Last Supper has suffered many good and bad restorations during five centuries. I believe that the deterioration by father time was unveiling a divine message that man covered by his restorations, especially the one that cutted Jesus feet just to make a doorway in the wall in the year 1652 at that monastery in Milan, Italy. How those people felt when they did it? There is a passage in the Bible in the Book of Isaiah where God says, "The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool". So why cover that part of the Leonardo's painting? Is it because his disappeared feet were in that Old Testament World a World that was judged and then restored in this New Testament World by Jesus and his Apostles. Is all that blue color in the painting water flowing from Jesus even to the outside into those blue mountains? Not green or brown but yes, blue. What about all that bread on top of the table do they look like stones? Read Matthew 4:3 or Matthew 7:9 for Jesus parables. Or those stains in that bright tablecloth, are those stains or reflections? Did Da Vinci realized all of this or was made by the restoration work thru the years. I understand that God told Israel in the Old Testament in the Book of Exodus 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Do this apply in this New Testament World? Is the Catholic Church with all the saints and religious paintings following this commandment? I am nobody to judge but i know that God works in mysterious ways and because of this i happen to see in Leonardo's painting a Divine Message that i want to share with you!
“I have offended God and mankind because my work didn't reach the quality it should have.”
What is the meaning for this other Painting by Leonardo Da Vinci?
When Da Vinci was painting, how did he know that John the Baptist was right handed? Ok. But one thing he wants you to see out of this is that John the Baptist is pointing up because he is dead in that darkness and he is in the Earth! Yes he is dwelling in Earth and not on Earth because he is dead after being decapitated and we could easy see those marks around his neck to acknowledge that. The important mystery is that John the Baptist is pointing tours that place where you and me stand right now on what him and that Spiritual World calls The Land of the Living! He is that voice that cries in the wilderness and he has a mission to preach to them Old Testament World souls that are in darkness so they could finally see Jesus Christ coming as a thief in the night for their mercy and for their rescue!
