I bowed on my knees, one day in glory
Resting in God, Finding Strength Through God
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings of eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31)
Resting in God, finding the peace and mercy that flows from His throne, knowing when to yield to His grace, that He may sustain our lives. This is what we so often look for yet cannot find. The peace that only rest in our Saviiour can give. Matthew 11:28,"Come unto me all ye that are heavy laden and I will give you rest." Come to Jesus find the resting place that only Christ may provide for you. He is the author and finisher of our faith and Jesus will give you the rest you need. We make ourselves to work long hours wondering how we will get by, not knowing what is around the next corner. We put too many hours into the day and no longer take time to rest in God. Yes, I mean rest in God, not necessarily resting by taking a nap or getting to bed a few minutes earlier. I am talking about taking the time to seek the face of God and ask for His providence in our lives. We need to stop and ask God for the daily bread only our provider Jehovah Jira may give.
Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; He also is become my salvation. (Isaiah 12:2)
I bow down on my knees and cry holy, holy, holy, I clap my hands and say glory, glory to the Lamb of God. He is why I do not surrender, He is why I keep my feet moving. God has planted me in His grace and hears my cries for mercy. He alone may be my hiding place, my rock and my shield.
He has become my salvation and my source. Christ has bore my sorrow and nailed it to His cross. When I could not come to where He was he came to me and took me in. He pulled me up when I had no strength left to stand. Jesus willingly took my sin and sacrificed his very life so I may come to the throne of grace boldly. Oh, the perfect joy casting my cares upon the LORD.
The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of Man hath not where to lay his head. Though Jesus had no earthly home He has gone to prepare us a place that where He is there we may be also. Then when He comes He will take us home. Rest will be ours throughout eternity. The rest that Christ has promised. For now we have work to perform, not a performance of show, but a giving of the Word of God. God gives us our daily need, He supplies us with the power to testify of the glorious love only a Saviour like Jesus Christ may leave to us.
BLESSED ARE YE
And when men shall come against us, we have nowhere to hide, we have no one to turn to, and grow weary from trying to be righteous for the sake of the Gospel, praise be to God we have our King. Jesus said," Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and say all manners of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you." Matthew 5:10-12 Jesus gives us the comfort we may need, He knows the words to say to us and how to pick us up when we are trodden under the feet of men.
YOU ARE MINE------- JESUS
Jesus has guided His hand over us and even taken our case to the Lord God Himself for us. He the Lord Jesus Christ prayed to God the Father in our stead raising our needs up to God for our protection, for our daily needs for all that we come in contact with that they may know we are the Son's. John 17, the prayer of Jesus for His people. In verse 9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them WHICH THOU HAST GIVEN ME; FOR THEY ARE MINE. What a joy, what a comfort knowing that Jesus said we are His! He knows us as He knows God the Father and He has prayed for God to keep us. John 17:10 states,"AND ALL MINE ARE THINE, AND THINE ARE MINE; AND I AM GLORIFIED IN THEM." Jesus is glorified in us as His children. He has given to us His love and taken that to God the Father to keep us. Jesus the Christ holds us everyday, He gives us the rest and re-assurance to keep us on our guard as workers for the cross of calvary.
Jesus marched up the hill of Golgotha, bearing the burden of His cross. He had upon it all my cares, worries, and debt of sin. He stretched out His hands, laid out His feet. There the soldiers nailed Him and lifted the cross so all could see Him hanging over the hillside. He bled, He cried out to God the Father and finally gave up the Ghost and died. Gone were my cares, worries and the debt of sin. Praise His holy name! He reached down and touched me, gave me rest, quieted my storms. My Jesus.
