My Jesus, My Music

Updated on January 31, 2018

Singing is one of the best way to express your feelings, specially to the one you really love. Singing for the Lord is also the way to express your love for Him. Remember the first time your heart was so warm and so in love with our Lord that your heart sings for joy for our Lord. No matter what the situation is, when you are were happy your heart sings for the Lord, when you're sad and discouraged your heart sings for the Lord, when you're afraid and confused your heart still sings for the Lord. Then suddenly you've lost that fire, the burning passion of singing for the Lord has gone down, your heart felt empty and confused. It feels like singing for the Lord whether in choir or praise team seemed to be so tiring and you felt like its just a responsibility that you need to do because you are member of the worship and choir ministry. If this is your situation right now, then reading this would help you back that burning passion in singing for our Lord.

Desire to Sing for the Lord

First, You need to have the desire to sing for the Lord again. If you like someone and you desire to know that person well, you will do anything to call his or her attention. If you desire to buy a new and latest model of cellphone you will save a lot and will do all the means to have one. You also need to have that desire to sing for the Lord again, remembering our fist encounter with our loving Lord, the first time your heart felt so warm and felt God's amazing grace in your life, how He has saved you and loved you unconditionally. That love that love that you have first felt when you encounter our Lord. Remember all those times that He was with you, in your weakness, in your sadness, in your grief in sickness, our Lord has never left you. think of those times and have that desire again, and see how your heart and soul sing for our Lord again. Psalms 13: 25-26 says "whom have I in heaven but you? and there's nothing on earth I desire besides You." Desire Jesus in your heart and the music will start playing in your heart.

Develop Your Desire

Second, desire Jesus and develop your desire for Him. How? thru prayers, pray intimately talk with Him, when was the last time you pray with all your heart? Praying must be your lifestyle. Not just once a day, twice but as long as there is a need to pray, pray. Next is meditating His words, when was the last time you meditate on His words, your quiet time, devotion? your journal for the Lord. Always have moment with God, reading His words and meditating on it. His words is a lamp unto our feet and light unto our path. Desire is not enough, you must develop your desire for the Lord. And that's one of the most wonderful feeling to have that desire to develop our passion our burning passion for the Lord. Then, and only then the melody will start singing in your heart. Psalms 93:4 says "then I will go to he altar of God, to God, my joy and my delight". and the joy of our salvation in our hearts will arise and sing for Him a joyful song.

Delight unto the Lord

And thirdly, when you desire loving the Lord, develop your desire for Him then, you must always delight in Him. Always draw your self unto the Lord, never leave His side no matter what happened in your life, no matter what situation you are in. Whatever season you are in, in good and in bad season sing for the Lord. God has promised us that He will never leave us nor forsake us, that's why if you think you are alone in your deepest and darkest moment, no, you are not alone God is with you and He is just waiting for you ask for His hand. Always draw yourself unto Him, delight yourself to Him. Let him be your music and He will play comforting songs and melody in your heart.
