My Ouija Board Experience

Last year for the first time in my life I used an Ouija board. For years my mum warned me to never use one. But I went through a phase of being a non-believer, I needed proof. So I thought what was the worst thing that could happen? When we tried it we felt the planchette move slightly. It moved to a few different letters and honestly I don’t know if the planchette moved on its own or if the girl I did it with moved it and lied. Maybe it was my brain playing a trick on me? I don't know. I can't even remember what it spelled out, but were we really contacting spirits or was it all in our heads?

We used the Ouija board in Australia's most haunted house - Monte Cristo Homestead.

We filmed the whole experience and also stayed in a supposedly haunted hotel in the town of Junee. Nothing super scary happened there. My suitcase moved but it could have been a fluke. Also, the girl I went with said that the bathroom door locked itself while she was showering, but again, I don’t know if I believe her. Some people love to scare themselves or others and lie about it, so I don't trust anyone. I don't know if I can even trust my brain when it comes to Ouija boards.

Anyway, after all the footage and images we took nothing showed up so I was disappointed. We even went to a cemetery at 2 AM and did the Ouija board - nothing!

When we visited the homestead we asked the lady, who is the owner if we could take an Ouija board in - she said no. She then told us that her daughters once did that in one of the rooms and they got so scared never touched the thing again. So, we were bad guests and snuck the ouija board in. I know we are awful but we had travelled 5-hours for this, there was no way anyone was stopping us from using an Ouija board in that house. It was a big disappointment. Were the spirits busy that day? Or are they not really hanging around that house? Maybe they didn't want to talk to us.

I’m so confused as to why nothing happened. Do Ouija boards even work? I know ghosts are real but why didn't they show up at Monte Cristo, especially when it's meant to be the most haunted house in Australia.

Also, if psychics and mediums have gone there and seen these spirits why didn't they tell them to move on to the afterlife if there is one. If I were a ghost I'd be passed that no one helped me move on. Who wants to be trapped in the same place for years on end.
