My Stubenville 2014 Experience in San Diego
What is Steubenville?
Before I start sharing with you my own experience in attending a Steubenville Conference with my church youth and young adult group from St. Angela Merici church, were I attend, I first want to give you an introduction on what is Steubenville? Maybe you had the chance of going with your church youth group when you were a teenager and still have beautiful memories about falling in love with Jesus and growing closer to your Catholic faith, or maybe you never had the opportunity of attending one, or less have never heard of this special event. Well here I am to share with you up close and personal.
Steubenville is simply a special three day event where teens and young adults from all across the U.S. Who are members of their church youth group; gather to celebrate Jesus, to grow closer to Him, and to learn more about the Catholic faith and it's teachings. It is also an opportunity for teens and young adults to meet other teens and Y.A's from other churches and to create lasting and meaningful friendships. I believe that when you meet another person who has a strong faith in their religion and believes in Jesus then that person can help you grow more closer to Jesus and your religious faith in a positive way.

2014 Steubenville Theme "God Is"
To me the theme "God Is" means that Jesus is my friend, my true friend. Being at this year's Steubenville conference in San Diego has helped me open my eyes wider to loving and accepting Jesus and the Holy Spirit into my own life definitely. God is great, God is good. I realized on that three day conference that Jesus and the Holy Spirit have the power to really touch our souls and our hearts in ways that we never imagined would happen to us.
God is not only great but GREATER.

My Own Thoughts and Feelings about Steubenville 2014
Finally I am going to Steubenville, the trip that all teens and young adults say is a life-changing trip. I hope it is.
Well I am already in San Diego, were me and all the other youth adults from different church groups are coming to this special retreat. Me and my group of my girls already got installed in a dorm where we will be staying for these three days. I like the dorm it is so comfortable that I just kept on admiring the view of it all. The university is so big, I just hope I do not get lost in it.
Yesterday's Y.A. Speakers, Mass, and adoration were amazing!:) I am so glad and happy to have come to this year's Steubenville trip in San Diego because now I truly know what it is to love Jesus and the meaning of being truly happy in spite of what other people around you tell you. We all will be faced with negative people who will only tell you negative comments. People like that truly do not know the true meaning of happiness because they have not felt it.
I got to hear such wonderful and empowering positive stories from several people who in the past have been struggling with finding true joy and happiness in their lives towards Jesus. One man's story that really caught my attention a'lot was Roy Petitfil's story about wanting to find true happiness through Jesus's help.
Saturday was really emotional for me and everyone else in the evening adoration. In this moment I feel so alive and secure with myself right now that I feel I can do anything with the help of Jesus. Feeling the holy spirit come to me was really an amazing and wonderful experience. I cried of sadness and joy knowing that God will always be with me, no matter what I go through in my own life. That moment was a time of reflection for me because I had the chance to think deeply about all the tough times I have had in my life in the past and just growing more closer to God as my savior, I know that I will need Him more than ever.
Evening, the same day:
I will continue sharing with you more about Steubenville because as Kelly Spies mentions: "I am still on Steuby mode!" Well I truly am!:) I seriously do not want to leave, I want so bad to stay and learn more about my catholic faith, and God so that I can keep on growing more closer to Him than I have ever been before. Attending the Y.A. 18:23 conference events have again made me realize how beautiful God's love is for all of us. To let the presence of his holy spirit come to me is really amazing. I learned that to be able to have true happiness within me means to do the things that God has called you to do in positive ways. We all deserve God's love and forgiveness whenever we feel far from Him.
Jackie Francois Angel's speech about letting God into your life and finding true love that is worth fighting for really made me think twice about finding true love. I could relate to her because she mentioned that coming from a lukewarm catholic family, she did not know a'lot about her religion and was not close to God. Accepting God is something that she chose to do because she saw all the consequences that her sisters were going through so now she is happy having God in her life.
Going to confession was just something I found really helpful and comforting because the Father whom I did confession with, was a really understanding person and gave me some really helpful advice on how to improve, which I really liked.
