Mystical Living: Being Young and Pagan: First Step; Where?

Updated on May 27, 2014

Knowledge Is Key

If there is any question I am asked most often by those seeking information about Paganism, Witchcraft and Wicca, it is where. Where do I find more information? Where do I find my answers? Where do I go to get the things that are listed? In many cities, it is difficult to find a place that will offer any sort of service towards obtaining more knowledge, but fear not this is the age of technology and the internet.

Finding Witches Voice

When you don't live in a large city or near enough to one to be able to get what you need, there are many websites that can offer you what you need. The first website that comes to mind, and was in fact my first pagan website to be introduced to, is Witches Voice. I have been online looking at different pagan sites for well over ten years now and there has been no site to compare to the vastness of Witch's Voice.

When you first stumble upon the page, it has not only a list on the left side where you can look up your town for groups, stores and events (some of which you might be surprised are closer than you thought), there is also a listing of the most recent news involving paganism, drop down bars filled with information about different things involving paganism, as well this week's articles. All of the articles located on the front page are written by pagans just like you and are about the different topics you might be struggling over, need more information about or would like to connect over. This site also offers a personalized page where you can meet and greet with other pagans in your area. All in all, this site is perfect place for a wide variety of information.

Pagan Radio Network

Like many of the radio stations in this country, there are those that have special guest or times slots where certain topics are discussed. With a personality on the other end speaking, it's easy to see why so many people enjoy listening to a talk show. Now there aren't many pagan radio talk shows on the normal radio, but with the future moving forward, we have the internet. With the internet comes a new form of radio that anyone can access from any computer and listen in on. Some sites even have bars that you can have placed into your web browser so you don't even have to go to the site to access it.

For us pagans, and especially those of the younger generation, easy access and different forms of finding information is key. With Pagan Radio Network, it is a radio with an array of different things to offer. First and foremost is the music, which is labeled (so you know exactly who you are listening to) as well as different links to either information about the group or places that you can find their music. Some of the talks shows that do come up are:

  • A Darker Shade of Pagan on Tuesday mornings at 6.
  • Practical Druidry at 10 on Wednesday morning.
  • Modern Witch at 12 on Saturdays.

To tune into this amazing radio network, this site has many different forms of players that you can link the program with, without ever having to download a single thing to your hard drive. Some of the programs you can link to are:

  • Winamp
  • Windows Media Player
  • Itunes

On top of the wonderful link to music, the site also has a place for articles about the music artists and reviews of the different music the network plays. If you aren't sure, they've got something to help you out. If you are someone who browses a lot of pages constantly, you can actually add a special bar to your web browser that allows you to access the Pagan Radio Network, no matter which page you are on. Everything from listening to the music or checking up on updates, the web bar allows you easy access.

Books, Books and More Books!

Books have the place for information for many years. Now, not everyone of us has access to a large Barnes And Noble, nor any other book seller, so where does someone go to buy books? Online of course! There are a ton of web pages that offer Pagan related books, below are a few of my favorite choices.

Where are all the Books?

Pentacle Press

If there is any site that I go to first when it comes to finding a specific author or book, Pentacle Press is the place. Independently run, they even have their own store front. For whatever city this bookstore is located, is extremely lucky! With affordable prices and an daily updating list, it is hard to find another site with as much selection as they do.

Ebay and Amazon

With a multitude of sellers, both sites are perfect for finding books. The difficulty is knowing which author to look for on such a vast website. Some of the authors to help you on your search when looking for books with reliable information would be Christoper Penczak, Ellen Dugan and many more!
