Never Never Give Up Your Dreams
There are times when you just feel like throwing in the towel. You feel as though everything you do is not working out. You make an effort at something and it doesn’t turn out the way it should, you feel disappointed and wonder why I bothered. I’ve done that a few times. I’ve believed in something, worked hard at it but then don’t get the results I expected. I then begin to wonder why I’d even bothered. But lately I’ve been stopping myself from doing this. Since I’ve listened to the law of attraction and wanting to attract what I want, I have to consciously stop attracting what I don’t want.
I’ve realised that when I get upset that things aren’t happening the way I’d set them out in my mind, what I’m really doing is trying to take control of how the universe should bring the things I’ve asked for. I’ve spent a life time trying to control things outside myself. I will think about something I want to attract then instead of letting go of how the universe will bring it to me, I begin to try and will it to me. That shows that I have no faith or trust that the universe is capable of delivering what I’ve asked for so I’ve set up a few reminders to stop myself from slipping back into the negative just because it isn’t showing up the way I want it to. Once you are negative you cancel out the ability to receive and the cycle begins again and you wonder why you never get the things you want to achieve.
I’m alive, this is a great indication that things will change. Life is always changing, evolving. Nothing stays the same. So each time I wake up in the morning and just before I go to sleep I give thanks for my life. I am thankful that I got to see another day and one step closer to my dreams. Each time you open your eyes remember you are a step closer to your dreams. The universe knows the desires of your heart, trust that you will receive and give thanks that you are receiving. You are receiving life force everyday to be ready to move in the direction of your dreams.
This may sound strange but try it. Each time you see a stranger on the street, smile and see what happens. They will smile back, what does that feel like. To me this feels great, it sends positive feelings and it makes me feel happy. When I do this I wonder why I want to throw in the towel and want to give up. Just because the results are not the way I want to see them doesn’t mean there are no results at all. When someone smiles back at me it gives me hope, it shows how connected we are and once we acknowledge that we are all connected, the things you want and need will begin to reveal themselves. Our goals and dreams are all around us, opportunities present themselves daily when we pay attention.
When I was about 21 I remember working at McDonalds. It had been a busy day and everyone seemed to be on edge. That day, even though I wasn’t that aware at the time, I decided to make work a positive experience even though it didn’t feel like it. I remember serving every customer with a great big smile. I remember serving someone when two women behind this person began to point at me. After a while it was time to serve them and the one woman said I had such a vibrant and powerful smile. She then went on to ask if I’d ever modelled before. I had never modelled but I had been trying to join some modelling agencies that didn’t work out. The woman handed me her card and told me she was from Elite models and I should ring to make an appointment.
This is what I mean by opportunities. When we’re feeling upset that things didn’t work out the way we wanted them to, we close the door to opportunities that will actually come to us without us seeking them. I’ve had to learn this consciously. Life gives generously when we step back and allow.
This is my last but most important reminder. I consciously make the effort to think positive thoughts. You send a very clear message to your subconscious mind and to the universe when you think positive. If something is not going your way, instead of thinking, why bother, think about something positive. It doesn’t have to be about the thing you want. I found that if I tried to think positive about the thing I was thinking negatively about it just got worse. So I’d just become more negative about it. Instead think of something totally different. For example, when I’m feeling negative about things not working out I think about my daughter, this always brings a smile to my face. I think about the beautiful house I live in and all the things I’m able to have. I think about the hot water I’m so lucky to have, the many choices of food I have. The minute I begin to think about just one positive thing, positive thoughts begin to flow. You will begin to feel like the luckiest person in the world. Try it and you’ll see. In no time you’ll have forgotten about the negative, you will begin to feel better and then new ideas and opportunities will flow to you.
I hope that these simple tips help you when you feel like giving up. Never give up, just take it as an opportunity to learn something new. As long as you are alive on this earth, your dreams will be fulfilled. You only have to keep holding onto them and you will have that thing you’ve always wanted.
