No Greater Love"Greater love hath no man than that a man lay his life for his friends.

A few years ago my family and I took a vacation to Mexico, Puerto Valletta. We stayed in this lovely hotel overlooking the beach it was an awesome sight and a lasting memory.

But what I really remember is watching my daughter almost drown at the swimming pool of the hotel that we were staying at. My daughter is special needs; I have to watch her very carefully because she doesn't really grasp consequences when it comes to being hurt.

Needless to say she didn't listen to my instructions as she happily went off to the deeper end of the swimming pool, and she started to drown. In my panic I screamed ""HELP HER" my son only being a year older did his best to swim over to her to rescue her but he couldn't get past the place he was at although he struggled to get to her.

A Spanish speaking young girl saw and rescued her. To my SHAME I always ask myself why didn't I jump in myself and save her? WHY!!? You see I don't know how to swim. Yet I hear of some heroic stories in how a parent or a friend would do whatever it took to save their loved one. Even a stranger.

I will never get over the fact that I didn't save my daughter . Much less grasp why a man would give up His life to save even an enemy ?

Mexico, Puerto Valletta.

Extra Ordinary Man

But the most extra ordinary man on earth , not only gave up His life to save you and I. He took RIDICUE, he was SPIT on and BEATEN then TORTURED to death so that He can save us. YOU AND I !
Greater love hath no man than that a man lay his life for his friends.
Christ died for the ungodly: Not only for His friends.

Romans 5:10
For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

I don’t know about you but I could never say that I would lay my life down for an enemy. Let’s get real here, we never know how we would react to a situation when it came to saving someone else’s life much less an enemy. But here was a man not only willing to lay down His life but to take total rejection and abandonment even by His own followers, being separated from His own Father.

He Laid His Life Down

Let’s go a step further: would you give up your child to save another? Let’s be honest here. I know I wouldn’t . Yet here we have our Heavenly Father who sent His only begotten Son knowing very well what was in store for His beloved Son, but out of love for mankind and His creation no matter how evil they got He was willing to send His own son to die a most horrific death to save you and I. Now that is a love for me that is hard to grasp and take hold of .
Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die.

Romans 8:32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?

So here you have a man who gave up His life for mankind and a Father who was willing to give His only son. How can one doubt that kind of love or even question His love for us? My God help us when we take that love lightly and for granted!

Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
John 3: 17
God did not send His Son to condemn the world, but that through Him the world might be saved.

Please believe me when I tell you that God loves you! UNCONDITIONALLY He laid His life down for you and I so that we can have eternal salvation there is no greater love then this kind of love given to us by Christ and no greater God that deserves our worship and admiration to the only One True God our creator.

John 3:16 ” For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

No Greater Love

Prayer

If you haven’t accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior ask Him into your heart and say this prayer with me:
Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me and help me to avoid sinning again. I believe that your Son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive , and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus name I pray. Amen!
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.
