Not Losing Faith When Things Are Falling Apart

Updated on May 25, 2013

Out of Sync

Why is it that when we are having a bad day that it appears that everything that could go wrong does? We hit every red light. The important phone call that we were expecting never happened. The big promotion that we’ve waited the entire year for was given to someone else. The list goes on and on. It is hard not to get upset when things don’t go our way. But is there something more to this?

I don’t believe that we live in a punishing Universe. Everything happens for a reason. Perhaps we have stepped out of the flow. Instead of allowing things to happen, we try to force it. I know that whenever I am stressed or agitated that things seem to go amiss. I have a difficult time in discovering a solution. I cannot find that important document. However, a few calming breaths, along with the release of the expectation that if I don’t find it that all will be lost that I end up finding what I was looking for. This has happened so many times to me that I cannot doubt the power of the Universe. We live in a loving Universe in which the Divine will gladly assist us. When I take the time to take in some nourishing deep breaths, I allow the God-force to permeate my entire being. If I was feeling stressed or angered for some reason, it is replaced with Divine love. This is our true nature.

Amazing and wonderful things happen when we are in alignment with this loving force that exists within all of us.

The World Is Not Going to Hell in a Hand Basket

If you turn on the local news on your television, you will not get an accurate picture of what is really going on. It will have you believing that everything is going wrong with the world. The news uses fear as a means to control people. Through the use of repetition, replaying the same negative event 24/7, gives the appearance that the problem is happening everywhere, but in reality it is only an isolated case. In Jack Johnson’s brilliant song “Good People,” he describes this negative repetition of events:

“How many train wrecks do we need to see before we lose touch of?”

We already know that it can be quite damaging to a child if he is constantly put down. Years and years of being told that you are a loser can create a self-fulfilling prophecy. The child may accept what they were told and become that very person. The good news is that we can also use repetition in a positive manner. I am sure that you are familiar with Positive Affirmations. These are positive statements, or declarations, that we wish to implement. I will share a few examples for those that are not familiar with them:

“I am a creative spiritual being that is here on this Earth plain to do great things.”

“I am grateful for all the abundance and prosperity that comes into my life.”

“I send healing loving energy to our mother Earth.”

In addition to Positive Affirmations, we also have other powerful healing modalities that we can utilize, such as prayer, meditation, visualization, art, music, therapeutic touch, as well as energy healing. This list is not complete by any means. We live in an infinite Universe. Each one of us can probably think of some type of healing modality that we have personally experienced or heard about that we can share with the world.

Being the Light Upon the World

If we truly wish to transform the negativity in the world, we must begin with ourselves. If we want to see more love in the world, we must be the example. It should be more than obvious that complaining will not get us very far. Let’s take a look at the concept of “Cause and Effect.” Whenever we engage in a thought, intent, or action, we are causing an effect in the world. I also want to point out that our thoughts and beliefs affect our body as well. I encourage people to check out the work of Dr. Masaru Emoto and Dr. Bruce Lipton.

What is clear is that our thoughts affect matter!

Therefore, complaining about lack of love in the world will only produce that very experience. You will attract people into your life that will complain along with you. The only way out of this mess, as Gandhi would say, is to “be the change you wish to see in the world.” Once you step into this experience of love, you will feel its transforming effects.

Take Time for Yourself

I cannot stress the importance of spending quality time with one’s self.

We all need a break from the world. It gives us a chance to connect with ourselves and to recharge our batteries. What is clear is that if we do not give ourselves a break from time to time we may experience a breakdown. There is only so much that we can give to the world. It is very important that we also give to ourselves. This could be love; time; spending time in nature; meditating; or whatever positive experience that refreshes or reconnects us back to ourselves. Once a person regains this connection, they will soon realize that things weren’t “falling apart.” What was happening is that the person has stepped out of the flow. We can step back into this flow by recognizing that we are a part of this flow.

Marie, I, too, feel fulfilled when sharing my thoughts or an inspiring quote with another. I think it is important to explore this feeling that something is missing.

Terry, whenever I write even it's to share a dozen words with a quote I feel fulfilled. I am realizing at this moment as I type this comment that I keep looking for projects to inspire me, but feel "I am missing something", when writing always fulfills me. I guess, the trick is to keep writing while I do other things.

Marie, glad to hear that you found the article inspiring. I know it has been a while since my last hub. It is very interesting that you mentioned that you had goosies. When I was writing the article, I had a tingly sensation run down the back of my neck. And as a matter of fact, it is happening now as I write this comment. :)

In regards to the negative news, we can only counter it by shinning our own light onto the world.

I'm looking forward to reading your future hub. It has taken me awhile to find the time and inspiration to write again. I do have to admit that it feels wonderful to express myself in words. Thanks for voting it up and awesome! :)

Terry, This was very inspiring! I had goosies in my head. You are so right when we hear over and over in the news about the negative things happening we tend to think this is the state of the world, and it becomes a scary place to live in.

I hope to write a hub soon. Need to feel inspired! ;)

Voted up and awesome of course. :)
