Nuggets For Drawing Closer To God
Knowing Rightousness And Holiness
There is a difference in righteousness and holiness. We have to grow out of things. We must grow up in God. Any person following the world's way is headed for destruction. You must choose holiness. That's to be born again and perfect it. Proverb 13:13 whoever honor God will be honored; if you despise His word and counsel brings destruction upon himself. and 2 Corith. 7 Ask yourself, Am I choosing God and working at holiness. Therefore having these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit perfecting holiness in the fear of the Lord. It's not something you're instantly are unlike righteousness. Keep reading.
One must choose to perfect holiness and at the same choose to cleanse himself. The cleansing that has to take place is to move away from the things that goes against God's wordin order to perfect holiness out of respect and reverence to God. 2 Corth 5:21 means we are the righteousness of God which is a giftfrom God. You don't become righteous, you receive righteousness because you have been made righteous because of what Jesus did in suffering and on the cross; and you cannot become righteous because of anything you do.
Works won't make you righteous. Example we were made sinners by what Adam did. We didn't do anything, it was given to us. And by what Jesus did we are made righteous. We didn't do anything; it's a gift from God when we accept Jesus. We can't perfect righteousness, Can't get anymore righteous than we are right now. But we can become holier. Righteousness is a gift and holiness is a way of life which we are committed to the moment we choose Jesus.
Holiness is how you choose to live your life, your mindset and who you choose to line up with. In other words, righteousness is bestowed upon the children of God so they can live holy. Holiness is not automatic. It must be lived, it must be worked out moment by moment everyday. It's cleansing. It brings about separation from things that goes against the will of God for your life. It's a mindset you have to separate from, your belief system. And a way of thinking you to separate from, what you think is right or wrong vs what God says about right and wrong and choose to obey God sayings. That's got to be worked out.
You will have to come to realize that you have been made righteous so that you can live holy. The things that righteous people do involves holy living and holy living is counselling yourself with God and your thinking with God and separating from things that go against God. You have to do it; Jesus won't do that for you. You have to choose that and then perfect that. Holiness won't show up in your life if you don't choose to work it out. If your life is clogged with sin it stop the flow of the power of God so God can't do what He wants to do in your life. Heb 12: 1-4. Sin is missing the mark and sin can be a weigh in your life. So you have to know how you're missing the mark. You will be limited in your life, if you choose to be ignorant to God's will (word).
We have to constantly resist the temptations in life until we win over them. When it says we have not yet resisted unto blood! You have not resisted the temptation until you sweat blood like Jesus did and it's not enough. So don't give in to it. That where we got to grow to and be mature Believers and not babes. Unless we deal with the sin in our lives we'll become so burden down that we won't be able to run anymore. Sin is a burden. Lots of people quit on God because of the burden of sin. And then you won't receive all the Father wants you to have. It stops the flowing of God. A great teaching I've learned from Creflo Dollar! Helps me greatly an awesome nugget in knowing how to receive God's righteousness and to perfect holiness.
So let us continue in the things pertaining to the will of God; the kingdom of God and get all God has for us in this life on earth and be prepared for the life to come. He's given us all things to enjoy. So enjoy your life with God. It's all good!
