Only One Mediator
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 1Timothy 2:5
We don't have to confess our sins to a priest or even Mary. The bible says that Jesus is our mediator. On the other the bible also says to confess our faults to one another and pray for one another.
Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12
Salvation is found in no one else. The pope can't save us or any other religious leader. Our own good deeds can not save us. Going to church can't save us either. Neither will our own intelligence save our souls. Only Jesus can save us. No other name under heaven, just Jesus.
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16
You see the bible says to confess your faults to one another and the reason is for healing not salvation.
For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. Matthew 24:5
Many will be deceived. I believe many church going people are going to be deceived, simply because they are not searching out matters on their own but instead just following and trusting men. We must be careful and pray about things that we hear.
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 1 Timothy 4:3
Why will many be deceived? They won't want to hear the truth or sound doctrine. Some would rather hear that they could be rich or whatever other lust they are after.
They said to you, "In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires." Jude 1:18
Basically, there are teachings out there that think that Christians should never suffer or go through any hard times. When the real hard times come, where we may have to die for our faith many will scoff. Unfortunately, even some claimed Christians will scoff.
I realize that these scriptures and thoughts may sound a bit overboard to some of you. Perhaps maybe even a bit offensive. I am not trying to offend anyone. I only want to share what has been on my heart lately. God bless.
