Deliver us from an Evil Heart

Updated on May 14, 2012

I Am, Therefore I Think.

The heart of man is desperately wicked
The heart of man is desperately wicked

God looks at the Heart

Our Father in Heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, for yours is the Kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.  NKJV Matt 6:9-13

The above text is spiritual communication programmes of the operating system of the Kingdom that Jesus taught his disciples to activate when communicating to their Father, contrary to how the hypocrites or religious people pray towards their God, which was the following,

NB: The following practises are now present in Jesus day, it has been passed down through a sequential traditional drift from the original pattern given to the Jews by Jehovah, which was administrated by Moses in his Tent Tabernacle and Jesus is addressing the erroneous drift and is supplanting it with the most accurate Eternal Covenant Kingdom requirement.

·         They like to do it in public places & in Synagogues (Church buildings) where they can be seen by men.

·         They use vain repetitions, shouting on top of their voice as if God is partially deaf, (sounds similar to the “Carmel Showdown” between Elijah & the Prophets of Baal).

·         They believe that they need to inform God of the things they need has if He is oblivious and is using delay tactics in His supply.

·         Jesus first declares the Kingdom is at hand and sets up the accurate communication uplink to Headquarters.

He required us to do it in the following way;

·         You pray in a secret place (heart), in your room alone, and the Father will reward you openly.

·         Talk to your Father with simplicity and sincerity, and if you need to cry out to the Father, do so.

·         Don’t ask Him for things that you need, which is providence of food, shelter, clothing and protection, this He gives to all His children, rather;

·         Pray to do the Will of the Father on the earth, please note that request for the Fathers Will to be done on the earth, not in the world (cosmos), which is presently under the sway or influence of Satan and the sons of disobedience.

How much of what we have today has Intercession, Prayer & Revival meetings is everything that Jesus told us not to do?  The reason for this is that we have been conformed into a traditional Church Culture rather than be transformed into a Kingdom Culture and we have no context for Kingdom expression, it is foreign to most Christians.

My emphasis in this session is to unpack, the one statement in Matt 6:9 ...”deliver us from evil”.  This begs an answer to the question, what is evil? In a Kingdom context I will present scriptures that will help us understand what Jesus meant for us to guard against.

NKJV Matthew 13:10, And the disciples came and said to Him, “why do you speak to them in parables, He answered, because it is given to you to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven, but to them it has not been given.  For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance, but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.  Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see and hearing they do not hear and understand.  And in them the prophesy of Isaiah 6:9 is fulfilled...”

Why are things hidden from a people?  Why would Jesus speak in parables to some and reveal mysteries to another?  Jesus said that He does that because he knows that you be ever hearing and not understanding, you be ever seeing but never perceiving.  Things are hidden because it is not its time.  Jesus knows that even if He speaks to a people, even after they have heard it they will not change.  There comes a time when what is hidden is revealed, if that person has no desire to hear anything other than what he presently believes for all intents and purposes what is spoken then will be no more than a parable.

Luke 10:25-37: The parable of the “The Good Samaritan” shows that there are two prevailing realities one natural one spiritual.  In this case Jesus was telling the Lawyer who had no interest in finding out the truth, how do we know that because verse 29 says,” but wishing to justify himself he said to Jesus, and who then is my neighbour?  But Jesus was telling him what the truth was but because he had no eyes to see and no ears to hear, what was being revealed to him became the superior way to the present way of understanding the man had.  When the truth comes, the natural and the immature, which can exist as a type and a shadow which was preparing you for the Truth, when the new truth comes it replaces your understanding and thus upgrades you to a better way.

What is dangerous when truth is revealed?

A)     You don’t want to hear it, because of its source.

B)      You then turn away from it after you hear it.

At this point you can no longer claim the place of sincerity or honesty, you are therefore no longer truthful because you may be able to hide behind the imperfect presentation, the soulish presentation, the shadowy presentation, you can only hide behind that until the truth has come.  But once light comes but you choose to maintain your place of your tradition, then you are choosing to walk in darkness and the Word says, the reason for that choice is that your deeds are evil and that you have an evil heart.

So if a person is in self imposed blindness, cynicism is when you know the truth but you don’t speak the truth.  You see this is not a game, the truth is never determined by popular appeal, a person who deceives himself is a person who, even if he would hear the truth doesn’t care what the truth says, then God will not waste time on that person, and neither should you if you are the speaker of the TRUTH.

The Kingdom of God will first precede the truth with types and shadows; we are now in a time when the message of the Kingdom is now being revealed.  To set aside the imperfect to receive the perfect, so that you may now walk in the new administration of the Grace of God, we are in that time now, where the message of the Kingdom has come in a new series of revelations, the way has been prepared, so that the things that are going to be revealed now will bear a striking resemblance to things that have been revealed before but they will take the level of revelation to new heights in the spirit with all the power and authority of God Himself.

So Jesus was teaching his disciples to pray that the Father deliver them from an evil heart because it would prevent them from changing with the seasons.  He was asking us to identify within us areas that would restrict the communication of the Holy Spirit to our spirit of things concerning the Kingdom of our Heavenly Father, which must be revealed to the sons of the Kingdom.  The Father can only talk to his sons regarding the mysteries of the Kingdom.

David prayed in Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart O Lord, renew a right spirit within me, cast me not away from thy presence, O Lord, take not thy Holy Spirit from me, restore unto me the joy of my salvation and renew a right spirit within me.  David when confronted by the truth, by Nathan the Prophet concerning his sin, chose to continue in his evil ways and paid a dear price for his choice, this Psalm is after all the calamity had befallen him, sounds very close to the prayer that Jesus wanted us to observe.

John 1:47-51, Jesus saw Nathanael coming to Him and said of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile, Nathanael said, “how do You know me?”.  Jesus answered and said to him, Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.  Nathanael answered Him. “Rabbi, you are the Son of God, You are the King of Israel.  Jesus answered and said unto him, “because I said I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe?  You shall see greater things than these”.  And He said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you shall see the heavens open and angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man”.

Jesus identifies in Nathanael that he has no guile or evil in his heart, Jesus received a prophetic revelation about Nathanael’s heart condition, and connects that to an earthly experience that only Nathanael could identify.  Nathanael then immediately also prophesies who Jesus was, You are the Son of God, this revelation was given to Nathanael by the Father under the fig tree, how do we know that, because it is the same revelation the Father gives to Peter in Caesarea Philippi, when Jesus asked the question, “Who do men say that I am”?.   Jesus then takes his prophetic revelation concerning Nathanael to another level and says to him, because he believed that He was the Son of God  and has no evil in his heart that he will see greater things that these.  Now what could be greater than having the Heavenly Father reveal to you who his Son was?  You see this was a once off revelation under the fig tree, but a greater thing would be to have a continuous stream of revelations concerning the Son of God.

Jacob’s ladder in the Old Testament is a shadow of the reality of the Son of Man in the New Testament.  Jesus then connects Genesis 28: 10-17, concerning Jacobs dream and attaches it to Nathanael that he will have a continuous open heaven and he will have that insight into the uploading and downloading of revelations on Jesus Christ himself. The lines of communication between heaven and earth concerning the seasons of the Father will be given to you by the Holy Spirit and His messengers.

Let us continue to remain free from an evil heart, pray that the Father deliver us from evil, so we will have direct access into the mind of the Father concerning the Kingdom, when we are free from an evil heart then we can say like Jesus Christ, I only do what my Father tells me to do and I only say what my Father tells me to say, we become the exact representation of the mature Christ in the Earth, showing forth the nature of the Father to the World.

Stay in the fellowship of the Holy Spirit.
