~ Proverbs ~ 2 The Goldmine Of Spiritual Wisdom ~ Moral Benefits~

Updated on January 2, 2018

~ The Value of Wisdom ~

~ Proverbs 2 The Goldmine of Spiritual Wisdom ~ Moral Benefits ~

Wisdom is an invaluable gift from God! Proverbs provides a plethora of examples gleaned from the wisdom that King Solomon was famous for! As we grow spiritually we increase in wisdom. We then, become better equipped to determine and distinguish right from wrong. Spiritual Wisdom is inclusive of trusting and obeying God. God will never tell you to do anything morally wrong or to do anything that goes against His WORD!

Yes you can obtain a worldly knowledge without knowing God. But you will miss countless perceptive benefits that godly wisdom provides in knowing how to apply the acquired knowledge. Wisdom is useful for; everyone, the simple who are ignorant and the young and the old. For those who are disrespectful, for the foolish and anyone in between.

Quite often when one mentions wealth or gold the first thing that usually comes to mind is money. Proverbs teaches us that wealth goes far beyond monetary or tangible possessions. “The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it, the world and ALL that live in it…” Psalms 24. This tells you that everything really belongs to God. Wisdom comes from God. Wood comes from His trees. Leather comes from His cows. Linen comes from His flax. Cotton & foods of fruits & vegetables comes from His land. Gold, silver, metals, various ores and minerals comes from His earth. Water comes from His seas, oceans and sky… “For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things . But SEEK first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and ALL these things will be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow… ” Matthew 6 ALL of God’s Word is True! Whenever we are lacking in any area in our lives we need to seek God first! We have to TRUST Him and step out on FAITH! This is how we learn to "Walk in the Light."

Our country continues to experience the aftermath due to the economic recession. Our budget has a deficit that is in the trillions of $$$$$$$. Many have suffered greatly and have lost corporations, businesses, careers, jobs, homes and continue to do so. All throughout the world many countries are financially strapped… Everyone has globally been impacted one way or the other. The economic catastrophe was felt again when the United States of America's government was actually "Shut Down!" How selfish of all concerned. Who would have ever thought that in October 2013 the federal government and President Obama would not be able to come to an agreement would result in such a gargantuan crisis.

There is also much to much scandalous back biting and unprofessional behavior that has taken place during the political race for President. Was not these United States of America founded upon the principle of; "One nation under GOD?"

This should not be... What type of message does this send to the world? From all of this we can clearly see that our security & significance cannot be only in material possessions that comes and goes. It goes so much deeper. The Proverbs are relevant in every area of life. King Solomon was a wise king who consulted the Lord. Here in these Proverbs one can discover that the key to our well-being is found in our relationship with the LORD. Here lies the Goldmine of Spiritual Wisdom

Wisdom is quite practical. It’s about discovering and learning how to become more responsible with whatever has been entrusted to you. To make the best of what little or much you have. Learning how to live an ethical moral life when, “NOW anything goes!” In today’s time even when you are responsible there are circumstances beyond one’s control that can result in great losses in many areas of life. All things considered how does one find a balance in all of it? Here is when the godly wisdom rises to the occasion to instruct us. Solomon freely shares with us his relevant acquired godly wisdom. The Proverbs yields invaluable instruction for becoming disciplined and leading a content productive life

Proverbial Lesson Highlights

Proverbs 2

Key Verse: “My son if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.”

When it is all said and done attaining wisdom is priceless. I am sure that you have heard the saying; “20/20 is hindsight.” If I only would have… There is no going back! So press forward. In Proverbs 2 we are encouraged to seek understanding above all else. To seek it as though we were looking for silver. Silver has to be extracted from lead ore & copper ore… The refining process was done by smelting or chemical leaching it was an arduous task. Now of course the refining process has been somewhat updated due to modern technology. My point is that it takes time and commitment to glean the desired end result. One must continually mine for wisdom. Seeking understanding is a process that takes tim. Being diligent helps us to discover the pathway to godly knowledge.

Seeking godly wisdom consistently helps us to better “go through” life’s many challenges. One must also become aware of the many ways of entrapment. Proverbs says; “From the seductress who flatters with her words, Who forsakes the companion of her youth and forgets the companion of her youth, And forgets the covenant of her God.”

It is important to take time and get to know who you are marrying. Do you share the same values or morals? Today people change partners like changing a pair of shoes. Divorce is raging. Families are being ripped apart, 55- 60% of marriages end in divorce. The world now gives so many options that many stay married just until they feel like doing something else. I wonder in ten years or so what’s ahead for all the children? Many have simply forgotten that they made a vow of commitment and faithfulness to not only their spouse, but to the Lord as well, when they said “I DO!” Now it’s I want what you have and I am out of here!

Pray for discernment there is a seducing spirit that permeates this world and some ministries. Notice the lack or reverence for the Lord. Instead of conviction by the Holy Spirit many are made to feel comfortable in sin. This in fact does not really reinforce morality and godly principles. But encourages immorality, unfaithfulness and sensuality...

I hope as you read this Proverb you will take some time and digest what is being said. Allow the Lord to speak to your heart. Each time you read a Proverb you will ascertain a deeper meaning. There are many more nuggets of Spiritual Wisdom to discover. Make some personal mental notes and see if it speaks to the core of your being. You can actually read a Proverb for each day of the month. ENJOY!!!

Proverbs 2 concludes by telling us; “For the upright will live in the land, and the blameless will remain in it; but the wicked will be cut off from the land, and the unfaithful will be torn from it.”

We learn wisdom by listening to God's words and applying the knowledge to our understanding and not forming our own conclusions. Unless we keep in touch with the Lord every day for our daily bread, we would starve for knowledge of God.

We need to eat our daily bread (spiritual) to grow strong and keep healthy in the Lord. Man needs daily food in order to be strong and energize our body and soul.

      God bless.

Nobody, "To "Be STILL & KNOW" is important! We must take time each day and throughout the day to focus on the Lord. The Proverbs are wonderful since they provide such practical wisdom. They teach us a lot about life and relationships!

Marriage is ordained by God and is a wonderful relationship to grow together especially when the couple is committed! It also can protect one another from sexual inmpurity... It is important to keep the flames of love alive and the marriage always blossoming...

Thank you for stopping by to share, In HIS Love, Grace, Joy, Peace & Blessings!

You must continually keep God in your focus, the fear of the Lord in your mind. Wisdom fades The moment you are distracted, your flesh takes over and what was a blessing becomes your curse. God allows trials of this life to refine a person and to make them into the image of Christ. Certainly, the flesh and sexual impurity will be used of Satan over and over because we are so susceptible to it in our flesh. The answer for that is to rejoice with the wife of our youth and always be enticed by her love.

DeBorrah, i continually enjoy how you put things together and your use of photos also. It is great that God has said to us if we lack wisdom we can ask. James 1.5 We must be on a similar train of thought as i have been working on my next hub since earlier in the week about wisdom also but from a slightly different perspective. Be blessed L.

DeBorrah, it is the living Word. It continues to mature and grow in us each and every day. Everytime we come back to a Scripture, there should be new and deeper meaning in it for us, simply because of everything we have read in other places. It is a wellspring of life. The current recession/depression shows us once again that faith in the temporal is fleeting. Peace.

DeBorrah, it is commendable how you explained the procedure from Proverbs for acquiring and utilizing wisdom effectively.

As you regularly emphasize in your hubs, it is important to stay constantly in God's word which is wisdom and being open to receiving His revelation.

"To seek it as though we were looking for silver. Silver has to be extracted from lead ore & copper ore… The refining process was done by smelting or chemical leaching it was an arduous task. Now of course the refining process has been somewhat updated due to modern technology! My point is that it takes time and commitment to glean the desired end result! One must continually mine for wisdom! Seeking understanding is a process that takes time…. Being diligent helps us to discover the pathway to godly knowledge! " AMEN, AMEN, AMEN!

In Christ Jesus our Lord, through whom all the riches of wisdom and knowledge abides, may we "continuously mine for wisdom!"

      A glorious hub!

      Forever His
