~ Proverbs 30 The Goldmine of ~ Spiritual Wisdom ~
Proverbs is an illustriously affluent awe-inspiring compendium of astute wise counsel! Here in these prolifically profound mind expanding pithy sayings, is a marvelous consummate accomplished collection of life altering words of wisdom! The majority of this brilliantly wonderful sacred manuscript was composed by King Solomon! It is in his latter days of life he shares this plethora of trustworthy prudent judicious well thought-out verses to compel us to move toward a closer personal intimate relationship with the Lord!
This essentially, indispensable wealthy anthology of spectacular complied collected works is worthy of our undivided attention. If you are wondering where to turn for wise godly counsel spend time here! There is a vast array of endless wisdom on a multiplicity of erudite scholarly subjects. The Proverbs are a rich memorable collection of pithy sayings! They are the twentieth (20) book of the Bible found midway in the Old Testament! The Proverbs are a superb, affluent, instructive didactic collection of godly wisdom! King Solomon has now aged and on the latter end of his life. He is sharing his intimate introspective reminiscing of his plentiful life lessons.
Agur & King Lemuel
This has been an amazing expeditious journey through this endlessly vast miraculous goldmine of SPIRITUAL WISDOM. Here is one of the two final segments of this ongoing series of Proverbs fashioned by King Solomon. They both have been written by two assisting authors; Agur and King Lemuel. Little is known about either. Yet their contribution is noteworthy and undeniably God inspired. They both acknowledge their humility and exude wisdom. It is said that possibly Agur came from King Lemuel’s kingdom… Agur & Lemuel were both wise spiritual teachers. Lemuel means “devoted one” and he is attributed as composer of Proverbs 31 that is to follow! How ironic Proverbs 31 was taught to him by his mother.
These well heeled godly principles are spiritual victuals for the soul and delectable delicacies for the mind to ponder. Here in this goldmine of highly appraised wisdom, is an overwhelming well presented poetically flowing collection of succinct sayings, brilliant short stories, proficiently constructed parables and couplets of wisdom filled topical maxims and pithy sayings.
Keep in mind again that these last two; Proverbs thirty and thirty-one are written by: Agur and Lemuel the two other wise sages that hold authorships of the Proverbs along with King Solomon. The proverbs were compiled somewhere between 71 and 86 B C. The tone is a tad different yet they ALL reinforce life sustaining godly principles.
To fear GOD is the superior choice
The fear of others can hamper and distort whatever you do if you allow it. It is important to know that no man or woman is above God. To fear God is the superior choice! Fearing God yields respect and reverence and liberating TRUST in HIM. Think about it? Why fear people who can do no eternal harm? God will never lead you to do anything that goes against His principles. It is important to know His Word. Instead fear GOD who can turn any intended fear or intimidation to good. “Be careful not to do your acts of righteousness before men, to be seen of them. If you do you have your reward from your Father who is in heaven…” Matthew 6. God sees your unrecognized service to others. Absolutely nothing goes unnoticed by Him.
“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen of men, I tell you the TRUTH, they have their reward in full. But when you PRAY go into your room, close the door and PRAY to your FATHER who is unseen. Then your FATHER who sees what is done in secret will reward you...” Matthew 6.
Life
Life is about getting to know God our Father and Lord who is the Giver and Sustainer of Life. Through Jesus Christ we have been given the wonderful opportunity of “New Life. Through His marvelous plan of Salvation we can be “Born Again” into His spiritual kingdom. This invitation is open to ALL!
To be sure our deeds are not self serving we must be able to accept being often misunderstood as well as being persecuted and mistreated by those you know and do not know. Know that many deeds you do will go unrecognized yet continue to diligently seek God above all else. Our sample prayer given in Matthew 6 says; “Your kingdom come…” This is in reference to God’s kingdom here on earth. His kingdom is not physical but spiritual. The carnal mind does not accept the things of God.
GOD'S WORD can cleanse our minds
We must begin to turn to God and His Word and allow Him to reveal the deeper meaning. The Word says; “His thoughts is not our thoughts or our ways His ways” in Isaiah 55; listen attentively hear with your spiritual ears! This is not talking about the righteous. If you read this often miss quoted passage of Scripture closely; you will see it is talking about the thoughts of the wicked and evil person, who has forsaken the ways of God. Listen closely: He who has an ear let Him hear! “Seek the LORD while He may be found; CALL upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the Lord and HE WILL have mercy on him, and to our GOD for HE WILL freely pardon. For MY thoughts are not your thoughts, neither your ways MY ways.” As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are MY ways higher than your ways and MY ways and MY thoughts…” Isaiah 55.
As believers we are to learn to think differently! GOD teaches us in His Word to; "...Let this mind be in you that was also in Christ Jesus!" Philippians 2 We must take regular spiritual baths in God's Word. GOD continues to perfect us as WE SUBMIT TO HIM. We never become flawless. But remember this; "For all have sinned and come short of the GLORY of GOD; BEING JUSTIFIED FREELY BY HIS GRACE THROUGH THE REDEMPTION THAT IS IN CHRIST JESUS: WHOM GOD THAT set forth to BE A PROPRIATION THROUGH FAITH IN HIS BLOOD TO DECLARE HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS THAT ARE PAST, THROUGH THE FORBEARANCE OF GOD..." Romans 3 Each day we can learn to sin less. We can strive to become complete in Him.
Please take some time and ponder upon this. God wants our ways to become like HIM. We are created in His image. "Finally my brothers, whatever is True, whatever is Noble, Whatever is Right, Whatever is Pure, Whatever is Lovely, Whatever is Admirable ~ if anything is EXCELLENT or PRAISEWORTHY, ~ think about these things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me, put into practice. And the GOD of PEACE will be with you" Philippians 4 Thank You Lord for setting me FREE!
Jesus Christ makes all the difference in the world. Here we are offered a spiritual pardon. We must recognize the authority in the Word of God. The Word of God has cleansing power! God is truly able! We must be willing to relinquish carnal ways, thoughts and concepts in order to understand and properly comprehend His Word. Jesus Christ our Savior, Lord and Deliverer came for a purpose. So we could have a better abundantly blessed life in every way. God’s Blessings is for ALL people who accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord. We are saved by HIS GRACE!
There are benefits as we embrace GOD'S WORD!
This does not mean that everything will always go as we think or want. In actuality it means quite the contrary; there will be much spiritual warfare. In these marvelous Proverbs we can see that King Solomon had to deal with an enormous amount of adversity. King Solomon who was the wisest and richest man to ever live had much to overcome. Here Agur shares with us throughout this Proverb the wisdom he too learned while he was going through. As we embrace these principles we can grow spiritually and keep pressing forward knowing that everything is under God’s control. Through whatever comes our way; we can lean and depend on Jesus! The victory is always in Him!
When we submit to His will and way we strive to embrace His principles over the principles of the world. We share in His transforming power! We access His power but we never become the power. In of our selves we are nothing but walking breathing dust. Without The Lord we cannot do much of anything. But if we want to access His JOY & PEACE we must embrace the TRUTH of HIS WORD! When we look towards Him and obey Him; He can renew us from the inside out. Our mind, body, soul and well-being rests in His hands when we look towards Him the Author and Finisher of our Faith. Be encouraged!
“If there be any encouragement from being united with Christ if any comfort from HIS LOVE, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my JOY complete by being likeminded, Having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose...” Philippians 2 . The New Testament teaches us; It is the mind of Christ we conscientiously seek to amplify not the mind of the wicked found in Isaiah 55! Jesus Christ is our only pure God given true example! “Let this mind be in you that was also in Christ Jesus!” There is power in the Word of God! BLESS HIS HOLY NAME for It is “ALIVE!”
Learn to TRUST & SEEK GOD above all
Jesus tells us not to worry but we do? If we pray why worry? Trust the outcome to GOD. Worry can damage your health and disrupt our productivity and reduce your ability to TRUST GOD. We are to grow in His Grace. We must seek and begin to daily make a conscious effort to turn to the Lord first. “But Seek first His Kingdom and HIS righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself…” Matthew 6.
We have been given the gift of His precious indwelling Holy Spirit upon the profession of our Faith. The internal ever abiding Comforter and Teacher! “If you love Me, you will obey what I command. And I WILL ask the Father, and He WILL give you another Counselor to be with you FOREVER! The SPIRIT of TRUTH. The world cannot accept Him, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. But you know HIM, for He lives in you and will be in you. I WILL not leave you as orphans, but I WILL come to you…” JOHN 14.
I have merely touched the surface highlighting these Proverbs! There is so much more applicable wisdom to "mine through" and discover within each Proverb. They are truly an endless goldmine of "SPIRITUAL WISDOM." Please take time and read each one in its entirety. There is a Proverb for each day of the month and more. Start right where you are. It is never to late to begin walking with the Lord. Building a personal intimate relationship with the Lord through His Word is what it is all about. Jesus meant for Christianity to be an every day lifestyle. Everyday; "To God Be The Glory!"
God has promised to give us His Holy Spirit. ALL HIS promises are true. We must daily ask as well as throughout the day to be filled with His presence so we are better able to understand and apply His principles in our daily lives. This ever changing world is constantly moving further away from God and His principles for life and living. God knows what was, what is and what will be! We who say we are believers must begin to embrace and believe ALL of His Word!

Proverbial Highlight Lessons
What is so marvelously interesting is how Proverbs 30 begins as Agur the astute wise, yet humble man refers to himself by saying; “I am the most ignorant of men I do not have a man’s understanding. I have not learned wisdom nor have I knowledge of the Holy One.”
Every Word of God is Flawless
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the Word of God! it is how we interpret and perceive it, The Word of God does not contradict itself. “Every Word of God is flawless; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him. Do not add to His words, or He will rebuke you and prove you a liar.”
Agur's Wise Observations: Clusters of numerical Proverbs
These Two Things
We can learn how to live with little or plenty. Everything ultimately belongs to God! He is able to; “supply all our needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus” Philippians 4. “GOD is a SPIRIT of TRUTH!” It is important that we learn to TRUST HIM! Listen to these profound words of wisdom we should keep within our mind. “Two things I ask of you Lord, O Lord; do not refuse me before I die: Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty not riches, but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise I might have too much and disown you and say; who is the Lord? ...”
These Three Things
The world continues to have us focus on the things of the world rather than the things of God. We will only ultimately find satisfaction in the Lord! “There are three things that are never satisfied; four that never say, “Enough!” the grave, the barren womb, land, which is never satisfied with water, and fire that never says, “Enough!”
These Three Things
If we look about us God in His infinite wisdom is constantly speaking. We in our little finite minds cannot ever fully comprehend an Omniscient God. We must get better at listening! "God is always speaking" Take a close look at these amazing things that Agur wants us to observe and learn from.
The eagle is able to soar above it all; it represents strength and freedom. The snake is symbolic of original sin and represents satan tempting Eve then Adam to sin and disobey God. They both should have known better! A ship that is tossed and turned upon an angry sea; represents the storms of life that God is able to calm. The adulteress represents the world’s continued denial throughout the ages of the travesty and deception of partaking in sexual sins. There are countless examples to illustrate the consequences. The world says it is okay? But not so with the Lord. Many continue to be seduced… “There are three things that are too amazing for me, four that I do not understand: the way of an eagle in the sky, the way of a snake on a rock, the way of a ship on the high seas, and the way of a man with a maiden. This is the way of an adulteress: she eats and wipes her mouth and says “I’ve done nothing wrong.”
These Three Things
There are some things that are quite hard for us to fully digest. An earthquake is a powerful earth moving experience. These other experiences are quite hard to bear… “Under three things the earth trembles, under four it cannot bear up: A servant who becomes king, a fool who is full of food, and unloved woman who is married, and a maid servant who replaces her mistress.”
These Four Things
We can observe amazing lessons from these seemingly infinitesimal seemingly inconsequential creatures of nature. They are mentioned due to the huge gargantuan life lessons their lifestyles display. They are often overlooked because of their size and perceived lower station in life. The ants work together in unison and teach us how to prepare for what is coming! The coneys which are badgers are wise builders. The locusts teach us cooperation and order. The lizard is fearless. The “Four things on the earth are small, yet they are extremely wise, Ants are creatures of little strength, yet they store up their food for the summer; coneys are creatures of little power, yet they make their homes in the crags; the locusts have no king, yet they advance together in ranks, a lizard can be caught with the hand. Yet it is found in kings palaces.”
These Three Things
Here are three different examples of confidence, strength, power and what walking in assurance resembles with determination! Our true security and significance can only be found in the Lord. “There are three things that are stately in their stride, four that move with stately bearing: a lion, mighty among beasts, who retreats before nothing; a strutting rooster, a he-goat, and a king with his army around him.”
Life is our school yard. Here we are able to better learn what it is really all about. We are all children in the eyes of the Lord. He does not force us to play by His rules. We can continue to repeat the past or we can look to the Lord and lean and trust in Him by faith for a better tomorrow. God does not want us to be ignorant nor wander aimlessly through life. We are Forever becoming and we never arrive! “If God be for you who can be against you” Romans 8.
God really does have a better way. Sincerely repent of anything that hinders you from living life to please HIM! Sin is anything that separates us from God! “No, in All things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. For I am convinced neither death nor life, neither angels or demons , neither this present not the future, nor any powers, neither height, nor depth, nor anything else in ALL creation, will be able to separate us from the LOVE of CHRIST JESUS our LORD!” Romans 8. PRAISE GOD! We will face man made hardships, illnesses, seen and unseen dangers as well as many forms of persecution. But KNOW and DO NOT DOUBT No matter what we can never be lost to HIS LOVE!
God's Word is our “Life Manual
God's precious Holy Spirit is our ever present help! As we look to Him, He is ready to guide us through the valley and mountain top experiences. It is our choice to choose His will and way. Each day is a new day for a better tomorrow! “This is the DAY that the LORD has made, Let us REJOICE and be GLAD in it! O LORD SAVE US! O LORD GRANT US SUCCESS...” Psalm 118 Absolutely nothing happens in our lives that the Lord is not aware of! HIS LOVE will protect us from any forces… Above ALL else TRUST GOD & BLESS HIS HOLY NAME!
“If you have played the fool and exalted yourself, or if you have planned evil, clap your hand over your mouth!
This PROVERBS concludes by telling us: For as churning the milk produces butter, and as twisting the nose produces blood, so stirring up anger produces strife.”

I love to read the Proverbs. King Solomon was very wise. God Bless you for sharing this wonderful hub. Wishing you and your beautiful family forever the love from our precious good Lord.
Thank you for this wonderful lesson. I missed this one somehow when it was published. I am glad I found it now.
Life is our schoolyard. The Lord does not want us to be ignorant. Trust God.
Amen and Amen!
DeBorrah what a great lesson you teach. Proverbs is a wonderful book of wise lessons. I think many people would be surprised to know that when they quote a lot of everyday sayings. They are actually quoting Biblical sentences.
Only by the grace of God can we really learn the truth. Without Him in our lives the sun may as well forget to shine. Blessings to you and your family.
Much Peace and Love
This very important chapter of Scripture has been the blueprint for women and for men who wish to have a godly woman to stand by their side. What is described is impossible without God and his Spirit guiding each and every step she makes. But when she submits to a holy God, it is the natural result and her husband truly is blessed. Great words, sister. Love ya DeB.
A very nice hub with great teaching. Enjoyed. God bless you.
Your messages are so real, so honest, so GOD!! I just love you!!!! The gifts are flowing through you my friend!!! Amen!

Best Wishes. Have a Blessed week. :)
Hi,
Though i am not a Christian so i didnt know much about what you were saying but i did read your blog and found it interesting. Though i dont beleive in what you said that true abundance in life is only through Jesus but thats your view and my opinion..
My God!
I am richly blessed. Its a great hub. Thank you..
DeBorrah, I have to say that Proverbs 30:8-9 has always been a favorite of mine. "Remove far from me vanity and lies: Give me neither poverty nor riches; Feed me with food convenient for me; lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is Yahweh? Or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my Creator in vain." To believe He is providing our necessities every day, is to believe He is alive and active, truly making all things work together for good. And if that be true and believed - what else can there be but JOY! Peace.
Thank you pastor DeBorrah for sharing with us yet another phenomenal lesson from the godly wisdom of Proverbs.

This reminded me of something I read about a wealthy man who, when dying, said he would have gladly given all his wealth for a successful marriage. He had been married six times. I thought about so many great minds in this world achieving great success in a secular sense, but lacking godly wisdom that ensures a truly gratifying and abundant LIFE.
There is something to the cliché, "get a life." In the Christian context, it is "get a LIFE in Christ Jesus" for, as you clearly asserted, "we only ultimately find satisfaction in the Lord!
God bless you for the effort you applied in producing this marvelous synopsis of Proverbs 30. It has not returned to you void for I have been richly blessed and illuminated. All glory to God!
May God continue to uplift you in His service and bless you with His eternal peace and joy!!
Forever His,
I don't know what I would do without God's Life Manual. It is filled with such wisdom from cover to cover. One could spend a life time taking it all in and still not cover it all.
Thanks, DeBorrah and God bless.
