Pain or Pleasure (painorpleasure)
Pain and pleasure
Pain and pleasure in life are goes together.
The other day when my daughter asked me about the loss of her maternal great grandmother I tried to explain what is death and life. I would like to share it with you.
Loosing some one who is dear to us is a painful experience for all of us who are alive. But they are gone to some other place where there is joy and happiness forever.
By death, they are going to some where else. For example, after your Higher Secondary, you will not be in the roll of the school where you were studied. Your name cut off from the School roll. But you won't regret that your name is no longer appear in the School roll as you are entered in to a college. Your name, now is in the roll of your College. There you will find new friends. So you are happy. This means you are transferred from one place to another. Moved from school to College. If you are absent here, you are present some where else.
By death you are no more available in this world, but you are available in some other world. Enjoying with your new friends and you are happy.
Then I explained that she will be with her father and mother and her parents will introduce her to their parents. Her grand parents will say "When we left you, you were a small happy kid, now you become old and have some great grand children. Then they will take her to meet her great great grand parents. And there will be joy of re-union.
My daughter is now no more worry about death, but now she is very much excited about meeting her great great grand parents.
But I read about an interesting question asked by Sadducees who belive
that there is no resurrection. They come to Jesus and asked this
question: "Teacher," they said, "Moses told us that if a man dies
without having children, his brother must marry the widow and have
children for him. Now there were seven brothers among us. The first
one married and died, and since he had no children, he left his wife to
his brother. The same thing happened to the second and third brother,
right on down to the seventh. Finally, the woman died. Now then, at the
resurrection, whose wife will she be of the seven, since all of them
were married to her?"
Jesus replied, "You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God. At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven. But about the resurrection of the dead—have you not read what God said to you, 'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'? He is not the God of the dead but of the living."
When the crowds heard this, they were astonished at his teaching. So from the above we could understand that there is no relationships at the resurrection. Our relationship with our spouse, our children, our parents and colleagues will end up in this world.
However, from the parable of The Rich Man and Lazarus, we could understand that we can see and identify the people who are there in the Heaven or Hell.
"There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores and longing to eat what fell from the rich man's table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.
"The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried. In hell, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. So he called to him, 'Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.'
"But Abraham replied, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.'
"He answered, 'Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my father's house, for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.'
"Abraham replied, 'They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.'
" 'No, father Abraham,' he said, 'but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.'
"He said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.' "
From the above parable, we could understand one thing that even though the Heaven and Hell are divided, people in the hell can see the people at heaven. How pity of us if we happened to fell in the hell and seeing people who are well known to us having good time at heaven.
Let us take a decision now to listen to Moses and Prophets. So that we won't be tormented in the hell.
