How hard is it to believe in paranormal activity
Are you a believer?
For centuries, several people claimed to have been in contact with supernatural activities throughout the globe. The vast majority of the population see it as ghost stories and nothing more and they won't believe anything unless they see it with their own eyes. In today's society, especially in the entertainment aspect, the supernatural world is vastly used in tv shows and movies. They give us the creeps for a brief instant and for some of us, take away some hours of sleep but, of course, as we grow older we get used to it and we are less scared of scary stories or horror movies.
As for me, I have heard from some friends their stories about when they saw the halo of a deceased person or a television set that turns on by itself. I never really bothered with all these stories but recently, some events have happened and I am starting to become a believer, if one can say.
It all began at my friend's house about three months ago. Her room is in the basement and one night she hears footsteps at her door and a person singing a lullaby. Of course she freaks out and tells her sister to stop doing that but her sister is sleeping in her room. Reality or part of her imagination? Who knows. But I do know that the next morning she called in panic mode: ''OHH my god there was somebody last night whispering in my house! Please come here I am scared!!! and blablabla. Of course I did not believe her for a second so I offered her to stay for the night and watch a movie with her just to make her feel safe. So I get on my slippers and get ready to watch a movie with, I have to admit, a small hope of something happening. I do not remember what movie we were watching but my friend fell asleep about an hour into the movie. I said to myself ''Ok, is this the time for some paranormal activity?''. Eventually, as you can guess something did happen.
The stairs that lead to the basement are old and they creak when someone comes down. Suddenly, I hear crackles like if someone was actually coming down. I say to myself that it's normal and that they can do that by themselves sometimes until...I feel a small breeze invading the room like if the temperature had gone down a degree or two and at the same time all the furnaces start working at the same time. All of a sudden my heart starts pumping and I get a huge rush of adrenaline. I wake up my friend to tell her what just happened and I am frustrated at the same time because she was right and I did not want to believe her.
Was it the work of my imagination or did something really happened? A few weeks went by and nothing ever happened until my friend comes to my place. A week or so after her visit, my brother tells me that the printer turned on when he was watching a movie...and it's not a wi-fi printer so no chances of someone printing in the house from their laptop.
Ever since, nothing has happened with such magnitude as these events. As I write this hub I am wondering if there is someone, or something, watching me from somewhere. I do understand that this is hard to believe and that it falls into the section of ''Oh no not another one!''. After all I am just another person who claims to have ''seen'' something and I would understand if you are skeptical about all this because I too, would be. At least I hope it was entertaining!
