Burning the Koran Quron Day

Pastor Terry Jones and his Burning the Koran Day have caused a media storm with journalists and news reporters from around the world. Being broadcast worldwide, and in real time is the journey of one mans peaceful protest threat of burning a holy book, as he battles to make his point to unpeaceful renegade extremists.

Lots of political negotiation is done around the world, with either sides trading of concessions,a and bargaining from a position of strength. Although normally we are subjected to years of stand offs, Paster Terry Jones has achieved a rite of passage straight to solving one of the biggest questions about if it is acceptable to build a Mosque at ground zero.

The president of the untied states has expressed his own beliefs that it should be acceptable for the mosque to be built, and that people should respect Americas tolerance and acceptance of all spiritual and religious faiths. This has struck a raw nerve with most Americans, who disagree, and although respect the Muslim faith, still feel it is inappropriate.

Pastor Jones has taken an important piece of symbolism, history and culture, in the form of the Quron,(Koran) and with what would have been very disrespectful, but still peaceful none the less, negotiated towards a very important topic that if successful, will make Pastor Jones a hero, amongst almost most Americans.

As I've finished this article, The pastor has arrived in New York to talk about movement of at the Islamic community center with Feisal Abdul Rauf the imam.

Whatever the outcome from this Pastor Terry Jones and his Burning the Koran Day will be considered years from now, one of the best pieces of modern day religious negotiating.

I don't agree with a word of that article anyway, the ability to have a spiritual bargaining deal about the boundaries of 2 faiths, its amazing that modern technology is creating TV events around the circumstance, and yes allowing this 15 mins. By "threatening to burn a holy book, a man has spent 15 minutes leveraging that resource to allow him to make a decision on behalf of a large group of American people, (on the same level as the USA president,) who's families where killed by the over obsession of that good book of faith.

I respectfully disagree with your assertion that Pastor Jones set a good example of modern day religious negotiating. I think he let his ego get the best of him, and he let the bright lights of the media seduce him. His Quran burning event was nothing more than a publicity stunt, and the media seemed more than willing to grant him his 15 minutes of fame.
