Planets in Gemini Part 2: Mars, Venus, and Moon

Updated on May 27, 2014

In Planets in Gemini Part 1, Ascendant and Mercury, I talked about Ascendant/Rising and Mercury in the sign of Gemini. In this hub, Planets in Gemini Part Two: Mars, Venus and Moon, I will be talking about mars, Venus, and moon in Gemini. Again this does not specifically refer to the sun sign in Gemini (some similarities may apply however). If you do not know your Mars, Venus, or Moon sign, you can run a natal chart (for free, type natal chart in google and plug in your birth data.)

Mars in Gemini

Your Mars in Gemini, in the planet of action, sexuality/sexual expression, and energy. Mars in Gemini is quite mentally active. Remember Gemini is an air sign ruled by Mercury (the sign of communication (verbal and non-vernal). As an air sign mars they are detached, intellectual, and communicative. As a mercury ruled sign, Gemini is curious and knowledgeable and focused on learning everything they possibly can learn. Put in the planet of action, Mars in Gemini is more of a thinker than doer. This doesn’t mean they are lazy (you simply cannot call Gemini, in no matter what planetary placement lazy). This just means that they’re natural form of action is more cerebral and inward than physical and outward.

The best way to put it in perspective is to compare a Mars in Aries with a Mars in Gemini in a fight. Naturally a Mars in Aries will scream and punch first then ask questions later. A Mars in Gemini instead will find ways to use their mental prowess to physically defeat the Mars in Aries without much physical action. A common tool will be words and wit. The Mars in Gemini are always thinking what they will do next, once they think, they do. Mars in Gemini is quite energetic and lively, constantly picking up interests and hobbies. The Gemini Mars require activities that allow them to think while being active. Chess, Video Games, Knitting, music playing, puzzles and drawing. Even so, their main goals are activities that is both socially fulfilling and mentally challenging. Their energy levels are quite erratic making them a bit experimental and open to activities, which leads to mars and sexuality.

Mars in Gemini (con'td.)

Mars also governs sexuality and sexual expression. Mars in Gemini makes a very curious lover that approaches sex in a very intellectual matter. This makes a mars in Gemini person very knowledgeable in sex (knowledgeable in a more academic way, less intuitive, less emotional way). They treat sex as hobby, experiment and learning experience all in one.

The mars in Gemini person will know numerous sexual positions and techniques, know the scientific names of both the male and female genitalia and have numerous sexual partners (of both sexes). This may be a bit extreme (and a bit exaggerated) but they will know interesting details about sex. Sex with a Mars in Gemini will be fun, playful, casual and detached, and it will not be emotional, passionate, or full of higher meaning.

Venus in Gemini

Venus is all about love and how we act in relationships. Venus in Gemini is one of the weaker positions of Venus (air and fire signs are typically not the ideal placement for Venus). Remember Venus is exalted in Pisces an emotional, mutable water sign. Exalted in Pisces, who is ruled over by Neptune (the planet of illusions, dreams, magic and spirituality). Venus in Gemini is not emotional and doesn’t depend on illusions and spirituality. In fact, Venus in Gemini is quite detached, brainy, and impersonal. They care more about finding a friend they can talk to than finding their one true love. They want to have fun, socialize, and intellectualize. As a friend you are sociable, and fun. As a lover you are clever, flirty and spontaneous.

Even so, with both friends and lovers, the Venus in Gemini can be seen as someone that is more superficially invested in someone on a more personable level than personal level. Prefer a lover that is smart, and funny, and relationships that are light, fun, and superficial. This is especially true in romantic relationships where the Venus in Gemini has the reputation of being a commitment phobic, promiscuous/unfaithful, and disloyal. In truth you do not liked to be tied down and put into a routine. Even so, Venus in Gemini is all about a good time, filled with fun, laughter, intellectual conversations and spontaneity.

Moon in Gemini

Your Moon is Gemini, which means you are ruled by Mercury. The moon governs emotions and it is airy and clever in Gemini. As with Venus, moon in Gemini is not a very strong moon placement. To be clear Venus or Moon in Gemini is not a bad placement, it’s just a bit difficult at times, especially for Moon in Gemini. The Moon is ruled by Cancer and is exalted in Taurus. Both these signs are feminine signs which in turn makes them more introverted, and introspective. Gemini (along with the other air and fire signs) is a masculine sign which are more extroverted and energetic than feminine signs. The moon in astrology represents the emotions (among other things) and moon in Gemini (a masculine, air, and mutable sign) nature is not one that dwells or get into emotions.

Deep emotions and ties scare the Moon in Gemini so they avoid them at all costs. Emotions scare the Gemini moon person because they don’t know how to properly cope and deal with them. Gemini moon people rationalize and intellectualize feelings and emotions on a superficial level rather than feeling them. This doesn’t mean they don’t feel but they prefer not to feel (even though it’s natural process). Feelings are not rational and oftentimes don’t make sense and a Gemini moon cannot depend on them. Knowledge and interesting facts are dependable not emotions. Emotions causes them to slow down and short circuit (too much mental activity goes on when they feel).

Moon in Gemini (cont'd)

Moon in Gemini is fun, crafty, spontaneous, energetic and adaptable. Even so, moon in Gemini is also restless erratic, with detached mental energy that makes it hard for others to relate to them on a deeper aka emotional level. Gemini moons have nervous energy (due to the need to always and constantly be stimulated) and it’s best when they can keep things light, fun, and changeable.

A very good trait and saving grace about moon in Gemini is that they are very adaptable and receptive to change and actually prefers this to routine. As long as a Gemini mooner is constantly mentally stimulated, active, and engaged socially this will lead to true happiness!!!
