May He Be an Instrument
The Prayer of Saint Francis
"Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is despair, hope.
Where there is darkness, light.
Where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive.
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
"Lord, make me an instrument of your peace..." what a way to begin. where there so much peace that is needed and there is unnecessary hatred and misunderstanding and a need for an instrument to bring religion into the forefront of everyday. He chose a name noone has chosen and a name that has so much history and represents unconditional love and hope.
To begin with a name that represents a prayer that exemplifies just what is needed; as if to amplify the need for infallibility and hope in an era where an undividing leader becomes the image, let us all pray for him in his mission ahead.
Simplicity and a cardinal love for religion and people is in the beginning of the new day and in the ending of the new day by the good night and sleep well. Good night and sleep well in knowing that Pope Francis has lived a life chosen for him and has chosen that life in all that he has done. May we accept the humbleness and live the humble way that he has accepted and offers all of us today. "Good night and sleep well, Pope Francis" there are many of us praying for you and because of you today.
