Power In Weakness.

Strenght Versus Weakness.

David & Goliath ?

Work On Your Weakness.

Today Jesus Will Answer Me.
Today Jesus Will Answer Me.

The Consolation Of The Weak.

Though they paraded the same weight, the two boxers were not beautifully matched, when they greeted the waiting fans, it was evident that one was bigger and or stronger than the other , victory in that battle was immediately assigned to the boxer pumping out stronger muscles. But that was not the case at the blast of the final whistle, the weaker- looking boxer, crawled out of weakness to rattle his opponent against all predictions.

In second Corinthians 12:10 ,Apostle Paul, our most respected brother experienced the same when he said “ Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.” He insisted at no point should any loose hope, even at a time of glaring weakness we should not give in, but wait patiently for the final whistle which only Jehovah God has the absolute right to blow. That was the tonic in the blood of the weaker boxer, though he was sure he looked weak, the must have relied on the unfailing word of God which admonished the that in glaring state of weakness, Let the weak say I am strong “Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong”. Joel 3:10

Apostle Paul though highly anointed was still in a pool of weakness that nearly made a nonsense of all he was portrayed to be. Like Daniel and Joseph , abundance of knowledge and divine revelations were his for the asking, but lo, lest he should be exalted above measure, a messenger of Satan, a very diabolic messenger was assigned to him, to buffet him and probably take him away from the presence of God.

He spent sleepless nights on the issues and confessed that he besought the Lord thrice for the purpose. God however made him to understand that He knew his sorrows, He was aware of the cloud of weakness enveloping his life and ministry but remained silence. His silence did not denote weakness to assist His servant.

“ And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:7-9.

In his little hand out, “The Power Of Weakness” Mr J.C Metcalfe said that the most difficult lessons that the Christian world and the individual Christian who is seeking to go ”all the way with God” has to learn is the power of weakness. the glory of being placed in a position where he can literally do nothing. And when perhaps even God seems to be silent over the issues and conditions at stake. Like the boxer in this write- up, who found himself cornered for elimination, by a stronger force. Surprisingly he showed there is power in weakness when he rose from weakness to gather the massive strength that was enough to give his opponent the night mare of his lifetime.

But What Is Weakness?

But what is weakness ? Weakness simply means the state or quality of being weak ,a deficiency or failing, as in a person's character etc a self-indulgent fondness or liking: example a weakness for the opposite sex.

Surprisingly it is at this arena of weakness that the greatest victories are won and the greatest work accomplished for the salvation of souls. Taking a look at the arrest of our Lord Jesus Christ at the garden of Gethsemane, the bible recorded that it was his weakest point in life that engineered the salvation and power we all enjoy now. Thinking it was by their own power and military artistry that they were able to arrest the son of God the soldiers beat their chests for a work well done. No, it was not , they were mistaken, he was in a state of weakness for the scripture to be fulfilled “ Thinkest thou that I cannot pray to my father and He shall presently give me more that twelve legions of angels?, but how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled that thus it must be”[ Mathew 26;53].

The other wide –mouthed man crucified with Him on the cross of Calvary saw this weakness and demanded to know why our Lord Jesus, reputed to be the savior of the whole world was not able to save Himself. To this dying man, Christ would have exhibited or rather proved Himself with such a display of power and authority that would have rendered the efforts of His captors null and void.

“ For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you.” 2 Corinthians 13:4.

It was a prayer from a weak point, a weak situation, red corner and everyone was expecting Him to pray and prove to the messengers of the high priest that of a truth He was from heaven. Christ would have commanded at least ten thousand angels to come to His aid, but why was that prayer never said ?, why did He keep silence and allowed them to lay hands on Him ?, why didn’t He pray to His father and then disappear ?, was He capable of doing so? Yes more than that, for even in the beginning of the world , He was. In order to confirm the unbreakable nature of the scriptures and leave it intact , never to be broken, He did not say the prayers that would have paralyzed the strong men that came to arrest Him.

He accepted not to pray that prayer but rather asked the that if it were possible, the cup of death should be taken away from Him, nevertheless not His will, but the will of the father.” Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.” Luke 22:42.

God had revealed to Him that only through Calvary ‘s cross will mankind be readmitted into the fold .That only through Calvary’s episode could salvation be secured for the lost world. Christ accepted this fact which God was not ready to change.

  1. In any situation which must have scared you to death, confess strength , tell the devil that though you look weak and defeated, you are not weak neither defeated, because He Christ lives, you can face tomorrow.
  2. Tell the devil and his agents that though you have offended God and fallen into a state of weakness, you can still come back to the God of Mercy.
  3. Tell the kingdom of darkness that even in that state of weakness, they are no match to you because you bear in your body the mark of the blood of the lamb that was shed on the cross of Calvary.

“From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.” Galatians 6:17

4 Tell the devil that once weak is not always weak that though you fall seventimes, you will not hestitate to rise seven times too. “For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief”. Proverbs 24:16.

5 Tell the enemy that the grace of God is sufficient for you.

“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9

“ Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.” Psalms 37:24

“And Hannah prayed, and said, My heart rejoiceth in the LORD, mine horn is exalted in the LORD: my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; because I rejoice in thy salvation.” 1 Samuel 2:1

6..Tell your stuborn pursuers that though the children of Israel looked weak beside the red sea, when God finally arose, their enemy , the chariots of Pharoah perished in the red sea.

“And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever”. Exodus 14:13.

God will surely arise for me and the weakness and the Egyptians I see today, I will see them no more in the mighty name of Jesus.

7.. Use this period of weakness to break into the weak camps and win some weak souls for the Lord.

“To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.” 1 Corinthians 9:22

8.Though anointed, you could still be weak, experience weak periods and moments, should the devil programme evil against you this period, the Lord is here to fight for you and will reward

any one that may try to use your weakness to do you evil.

“And I am this day weak, though anointed king; and these men the sons of Zeruiah be too hard for me: the LORD shall reward the doer of evil according to his wickedness.” 2 Samuel 3:39.

Let the Lord reward all those that do evil according to their wickedness in the name of Jesus.

9… During these days and years and or period of weakness, you have actually transgressed the laws of the Lord, weakness is not an excuse to offend your maker, you must now go on bended knees like this

“Have mercy upon me, O LORD; for I am weak: O LORD, heal me; for my bones are vexed”. Psalms 6:2

10 …“I speak as concerning reproach, as though we had been weak. Howbeit wherein so ever any is bold, (I speak foolishly,) I am bold also.” 2 Corinthians 11:21.

Weakness breeds reproach , in the days and years of weakness, people may reproach you, bear the reproach.

11..Tell the enemy that there is strength in being weak[strength in weakness].

Be Strong.
Be Strong.

Store House of Prayers.

She had prayed and prayed all prayers to no avail, over the years, she called on God almighty to bless her with a child, she devoted her time to fasting and praying, she lost her weight, lost her voice, lost her appetite , gave in everything she could to ensure that her prayers sailed through, expecting heaven to open due to the intensity of the spiritual exercises but to no avail.

She started relenting and finally fell into a state of weakness. This weak- period lasted for a a long period before heaven opened up for heaven. Great heaven opened when she was no more praying and no more fasting. Even if she fasted and prayed, it was just to pass time and not to win the battle ahead. But alas ! everything she ever asked for began to roll into her hands in good number. Surprised, she wanted to know why such a visitation during a glaring state of weakness and even sin. She was told that the His grace is suffiecient for her. She was told that her prayers during her heat-days were never in vain as there is no wasted prayer in the book of God. He answers every prayer, some He says yes, others He says no, some others He keeps silence, in all He answers all prayers, because whatever color it takes is an answer.

Moreover if you can pray, pray on, do not be bothered when and how God will answer them. Even if the answers are not here yet, the prayers are not wasted, they are stored in your store house of prayers over there[ heavenly places] waiting to fall on you when you least expects them. In most cases answers to prayers come when you have stopped praying, and even in a weak state. When people have started seeing you as a sinner, then heaven replies you on the efforts you made few years ago. Remember He said.

“And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;” Luke 18:1. The more you pray , the more you load your store house of prayers, with prayers that will rain on you when you are no more in the mood to labour in fasting and praying.
