Force that opens a Rose

What is intriguing is the fact that we tend to forget that we have the same intelligence or force in us as something as beautiful as a Rose. The Rose starts its life as a rosebud and gently opens up to this magnificent flower. The beauty of this is that we have this same force in us that if we only tapped into it, believed in its magic that of our creator.

A lot of flowers that are used as spiritual tools, if you think of the lotus flower that eastern spiritual books always refer to. The lotus flower starts its life in the lovely murky water, comes through it to become this magnificent flower with all those waxy petals that opens with the sun. That is why it is used to symbolise enlightenment in the eastern spiritual cultures. So to the Rose, we call the one of purity, with the prickly thorns, so coming from thorns you get this astounding flower.

The real magic is that the essence or power of a Rose is the God force in all of us or if you like from the Creator of us all.

Meditation on the Center of the Rose

Robin Sharma talks about the meditation on the Center of the Rose in his best-selling novel “The Monk who Sold his Ferrari”.

You simply need a single Rose.

You start off simply looking at the Rose, the petals, the color, the visual things that draw you to the Rose, the smell as well. By focusing on the center of the Rose you are opening your heart chakra, it connects you to that power within us all, as you come to stillness. If you thoughts, the monkey chatter starts up simply go back to focusing on the center of the Rose again.

You will find that at first you can't do the meditation very long, but as you do it every day you can get to that stillness that we all need to connect to our higher self. “Be still and Know I am God”.

A couple of items that speak about the Rose

Rose bush grown from stem

All is possible, this is the shoot from my single stem rose.
All is possible, this is the shoot from my single stem rose.
Look how the shoot has progressed, one of the rosebuds opened.

Magic with growing a Rosebush

One of these roses that I use for the meditation, one day a bit of magic happened I seen that it had a little shoot on it, so I decided to leave it in water. Magically it got more roots on it, and then we planted it in sand. The first lot of roses had no thorn on the branches, but now it is going strong with thorns and all. So the lesson is that anything is really possible if you just tap into that force that opens the rose that is within all of us.

I love that idea about “the same force that opens a rose is within all of us”, I have been listening to “Whispers of Spirit and Happiness” written by Deepak Chopra and Don Miguel Ruiz, it is on one these two discs.

Quite amusing I worked with on cruise ships one of the guys always called me rosebud, when I think back it I was not too happy about it, now I realise it was quite flattering. I guess I had not processed that magical inner power of my true nature yet. So quite apt really I feel now that I have remembered some of my power that is within me, the force that opens a rose.

Blessed with Roses

We forget about all the bunches of roses you tend to get in your lifetime, for your birthday, or from someone's garden, or from someone special in your life. They really are blessings in disguise if you think about them, the smell, the visual effect, just having something so perfect as a gift or in your room just makes you feel wonderful. You can even treat yourself to some, what a wonderful feeling if you keep fresh flowers in your room even. When you wake up you smell something wonderful.

I read that Steve Jobs was quite a connoisseur on roses, knowing the names and where they came from. Steve Jobs favorite was the Austin Rose, see the eulogy from his sister. Amazing man, changed our world in so many way

Osho Mystic Rose Meditation

Osho Mystic Rose Meditation

To be done for 3 weeks

  • Laughter for 7 days for 3 hours a day, start with Yaa Hoo then laugh.

  • Tears, next 7 days crying for 3 hours.

  • Meditation, Watcher on the Hills, the silence of relaxation and meditation.

This meditation uncovers all your inner child creating freshness and joy.

Amazing what a good laugh or cry will do for you, you can tickle someone if they can't laugh, remember when you were a child how easy it was for someone to get you to laugh. Crying is a little bit harder but if you touch someone and you are crying their eyes will also tear up.

You will feel like a new person afterwards, the inner child breaking through. Energy blocks are released, healing yourself, then into the stillness, being present.

You are probably better off taking a course with the Osho center near you, or do one of there wonderful retreats.

Thank You Perspycacious, I love that bit about the life force that animates a rose, animates us. It gives me that added strength to keep going with our struggles in life.

Roses in my garden, led to roses in my home. I love your comments on the same life force that animates a rose animates us. Life is life. Sad that some who would not bash a rose, can find it in themselves to do much worse to men, women, and children. It is past time we rose up.

Thank You, I love the lotus flower, I live in South Africa, not so easily to come by the lotus as the rose.

Rose is a beautiful flower. However, I have never meditated on the center of a rose. Instead I meditate on the center of lotus.
