Praying without ceasing

Updated on February 4, 2013

1 Thessalonians 1:2-4 (NKJV)

2 We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers,
3 remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God and Father,
4 knowing, beloved brethren, your election by God.

It's good to pray. People pray for different reasons. Some pray for health, while some other pray for wealth. Some pray for healing, while others pray for God to take him or her home. Everyone prays differently to God.

We should thank God for the people we love, care, and even those who may be our enemies. The bible teaches us to love our enemies no matter what. We should pray for those who are against us and treats us with evilness. We should thank God for what we have, and thank God for our faith and labor.

At the same time, we pray for hope, peace, and patience. Sometime it's not easy to have patience in some situations. All we can do is trust God, read His Words, and pray without ceasing. No matter if the days are bad or good, thank God through the prayers and remember those loved ones, people we care about, and you.

What do you pray for?

I pray for health, wisdom, my family, and I give thanks for Jesus Christ, my salvation, and wisdom. I always pray for people's health and good blessings upon them. God hears our prayers through good times and bad times.

No matter what we are doing or where we are, never stop praying. Take time to stop for a minute daily to pray for our needs and desires. When people ask us to pray, don't wait until Sunday to pray, do it right then. Let them know that we care and want them blessed through prayers.

Praying to God is like talking to a very special friend. With friends we don't keep asking for things all the time, although there are times when we want to share and talk about problems. Just to enjoy the friendship and make sure that we let Him know that we love Him and thank Him for His love for us, is beautiful.
