Promises That Can Not Be Broken

Updated on October 9, 2010

The other night I heard a sermon on Romans chapter 8. A couple of verses got my attention, and I decided to study the chapter further. It is amazing what is found in the chapter. Promise after promise is given--promises that can not be broken. I may break a promise, but you can be sure that God never breaks any of His promises. Whether in Romans 8 or elsewhere in the Bible, God's Word is as good as done. We just need to claim them.

I have listed several of God's promises below that I found in Romans 8. This is not necessarily a complete list. I hope that they speak to your heart as they spoke to mine.

Romans 8:

v. 1 No Comdemnation

v. 9 We are in the Spirit

The Godhead lives within us

v. 10 We have life

v. 11 The promise of resurrection

v. 15 We have a new Family

v. 16 We have assurance

v. 17 We are joint-heirs with Christ

v. 21 We will be delivered

v. 26 The Spirit prays for us

v. 28 All things work together for good

v. 29 We were foreknown, predestined, and conformed to His image

v. 30 We have been called, justified, and glorified

v. 31 We have the victory

v. 35-39 We are forever protected by Him and inseparable from Him

That's our God!

LG love it! It's that "you can take it to the bank" kind of promise that He gives us, yea and amen!! So needed to be reminded that "v. 35-39 We are forever protected by Him and inseparable from Him". Thank you Father that you never never never leave us or forsake us.

Romans 8, one of the greatest chapters in all the bible. I just read a portion of it to my Sunday School students today. God's exceedingly great and precious promises we can be sure He will fulfill.

Promises are only as good as the maker of the promise. He is faithful to His word. His promises can be trustes! The promises of God are AWESOME! So is this hub! And your heart!

Yes, I do believe Romans 8 to be one of the greatest chapters in the Bible. Actually, there are so many great chapters, but Romans 8 definitely qualifies.

      Fred,

The promises of God are awesome, and so is the Promise Keeper. Bless you.

We can always trust His promises. May we not forget all His benefits. Listing them as such helps to see the bigger picture.

      Good evening Lifegate,

Though all are beautiful and meaningful and true, as you said, "God keeps His promises," my favorite is "We are forever protected by Him and INSEPARABLE from Him." Glory to God!

we sent out letters and dvd's to several companies Christian owned and operated today. We need to get some support to feed the orphans in Soy. Hopefully tomorrow at church we raise a little. The food bill is due Tuesday and I will need to wire some by Monday. But our Pastor spent a couple hours here at our house Thursday and is putting this all before our Deacon board, he also wants to get it rolling and get us support. We still need to get to churches as we have written off mission boards. ( Guess I need to write a hub on Mission boards) I'll email you those details.

      Michael,

We have a small church so we may not be much help as far as support at this time. Keep me posted and I'll be in prayer about it though. And yes, I think you ought to write a hub about mission boards. We are trying to get our church back to a closer resemblance of the New Testament church. There were no mission boards. It was the local church through the Holy Spirit that sent out missionaries, etc., in the New Testament Church. Again, I'll be praying.

I will start putting that together a hub on missions board. Getting back to New Testament church is why our church BridgeWay Community Church changed the name and dropped Baptist, Now the mission boards tell us to go back to the sending church and they could support us, but we joined BridgeWay and were never members at Heritage Baptist the church that started us.

Just keep on putting one foot in front of the other and God will get you where you need to be for Him. Follow Him--not a mission board or denomination.
