Pursuing For A Life Of Power
Pursuing For A Life of Power
“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.”
2 Timothy 1 :7
“For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.”
I Corinthians 4:20
The life of a true disciple of Christ is a life of power. The early believers had turned the world upside down for Christ. Which life do you prefer ? A powerful life as seen in the life of the Apostles or a powerless life as seen in lukewarm Christianity today ?
What is a powerful christian life ? A powerful Christian life is a life that is mightily used by God for bringing salvation to sinners. A powerful Christian life is used by God mightily to transform sinners into sons of the Kingdom of God. A powerful Christian life is the kind of life mightily used by God for kingdom purposes. A powerful Christian life has indeed great impact to the lost world. A powerful Christian life brings real joy to the believer and brings great glory to God.
Do not settle for lukewarm Christianity which is so prevalent in our time. Some professing Christians are are just simply contented in attending worship services and making petitions to God to bless and improve their lives. They never make extra effort to reach out for the lost souls and make disciples while they are busy engaging themselves with some worldly affairs. This is indeed powerless Christianity. It has no impact to the world and does not bring glory to God. True Christianity will produce fruits as revealed in the Parable of the Sower. A true believer is the good soil, the one who hears the word and understands it . He produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. (Matthew 13:23). True Christianity will not settle for anything less other than the life of power and impact.
Jesus has the power of an indestructible life. Jesus life indeed is a demonstration of God’s power.Jesus has truly impacted Israel during his time. Jesus life is mightily used by God for the purposes of the kingdom of God. Apostle Paul indeed has lived a life of power and has truly impacted the Gentile world. Apostle Paul was able to bring great glory to God with the kind of life he lived. Missionary Hudson Taylor truly lived a life of great power and purpose upon bringing the gospel of the Lord JesusChrist to China. This is also one Christian who truly impacted the world and truly glorified God in his lifetime.
As Christians we should never settle for anything less than the life of power. We have to pursue for it daily in our lives. We should not settle for lukewarm Christianity so prevalent in out time. We should never be simply content with sitting down while watching the world and its people perish. We should never be satisfied with the kind of Christianity which has no impact to the world. We have to wake up and do something. We have to reach out and and make impact to people lives. We have to get out of our comfort zones and die to ourselves. We have no other alternative but to minister the salvation of Christ to the dying world.
Only in living a life of power we can truly be joyful as Christians. Only in living to fulfill God’s purposes we can find true satisfaction in life.
