Repentance is the Heart Purifier

Updated on June 01, 2016

Heavenly Father, I bow my spirit and humble my soul

I repent of every sin which I have committed,

By the authority in the blood of Jesus Christ

I bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,

Your Word says, that if I say I have no sin, that I am a liar, and

The truth doesn’t reside in me,

Wash me and cleanse me from all impurity.

I repent for every word I’ve said,

Anything and everything that I may have done,

I repent of how I’ve acted and felt, for every intent, motive and desire,

All that is not pleasing in Your sight, every way which is not right,

Therefore, Lord, it's not pleasing to me either,

I repent for all negative emotions,

Which are not aligned with the truth found in Your Word,

I repent of every impure way within me which is not pleasing to You,

Plow, prune, purge. cleanse, wash, and sanctify me,

By Your Word and Spirit.

I ask you to cleanse me from all unrighteousness,

Orchestrate in me a pure heart,

Purge me from all iniquity, prune me,

Pull up all the weeds entwined in my soul,

Which hinder the faith I need to please You

I ask You to forgive me my trespasses,

As I forgive those who trespass against me.

I receive your forgiveness and I thank You Lord, for

Your tender mercy and great love.

Amen

I loved your words. I have done, continue to do repenting but I will not allow guilt to be my crown. Instead, God and the eternal universe share with me room for forgiveness: of myself and others. Such a difficult mission on Earth to face oneself.

I'm happy to have you visit/read my hubs as well:)

Good evening "ALUR" how are you, I am so glad that you dropped by and I will visit you as well. Repentance is what frees us from guilt and makes forgiveness our reality. Forgive yourself and others as God forgives you. No don't wear guilt as your crown, wear forgiveness. Until we meet again, take care.

Hi Mabel, Glad to meet you here on hub pages dear sister-in-the-Lord!

I love this hub of yours. Not enough people today know the power of repentance and the sweetness of bowing ones head low before the Almighty and confessing ones sins. And his overwhelming mercy. Have voted up, useful, awsome and am sharing. and following. God Bless.

This is a powerful prayer. Thank you for sharing. It inspires me to do better and ask God's forgiveness for any transgressions I may still possess.

Good morning "bearnmom" how are you on this day the Lord has made? It blesses me that it inspires in you more sensitivity to God. We are such busy beings and in the course of a day, we may say, do, act in ways, have intentions, motives and desires that are not right. Repenting of what we know and unconsciously don't realize means we are being pruned and purged and emptied of all that is not pure. I believe that is what every member of the Body of Christ truly desires. Have a great day.
