Reflections On God And Life

Updated on July 4, 2015

Jesus is Coming Sooner Than We Even Think

Only God Knows For Sure

God loves us as we are but sees us for what we can be, in Him, through Jesus Christ. If you've read my story then you know that He took my heart from a cold, dark and stony place and found a way to make it warm, soft and pliable for Him for the first time in my life. He caused the light, His Light, to shine within my soul and enter in and create within me a heart of flesh and blood. One that could actually feel love for the first time in my life. Completely recognizing that my transformation from what I once was and now am is totally the work of God, a miracle that only He can do.

"Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God." (2 Corinthians 3:5)

Through Christ the Holy Spirit enables us to achieve whatever it is that God desires for us.

"I can do all things through Him who strengthens me." (Philippians 4:13)

Loving Him for me means knowing that "LORD I can't but You can."

"I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. (Galatians 2:20)

Satan uses chemicals and substances within the lives, (within my own life), of addicts so temptingly and alluringly that, because of the addictions themselves, we are blinded to the dangers and lured by the bait lying in his trap. And because we have become prone to these, we think, proven methods, we reach out and grab that lure of the devil even as he stands on the sidelines celebrating our downfall. If you've never suffered from any form of the manifold addictions which men and women fall prey to and suffer from? To you I say what I have said before: "It is impossible for a "free fish" to comprehend what a "hooked" fish feels like or goes through." In Christ the power of sin is broken in our lives.

"But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you." (Romans 8:11)

"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them." (Ephesians 2:10)

God's love is unconditional. It is of Himself. Genuine and true love comes from God. When we are disobedient/rebellious God's discipline is also an expression of His great love for us.

If we don't love God, we can't love ourselves or anyone else. The 1st greatest Commandment is to love the LORD our God with all our strength, with all our hearts and with all our minds. The 2nd greatest Commandment is to love others as we do ourselves.

And He said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.” (Matthew 22:37-40)

And also:

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”(John 13:34-35)

We are God's magnificent creation and as such we should respect our bodies and choose to cease and desist from doing such things that will cause such devastation to our bodies which are, in reality, the temples of the Living God.

As His children we need to love ourselves and have respect as to our appearance, our conversations and our character. We need to try and strive to be healthy. In our minds as well as our bodies. To also be healthy in our spirits by reading His Word and putting it into practice in our everyday lives. Remember that many of us are the only "Bibles" others will ever read.

I need to watch what ever it is that I do with myself in all the areas of my life. My attitudes, my speech How I conduct myself in public or in the privacy of my own home matters. I also need to show some self-respect to my own self if I expect to be treated with respect by others.

Whatever it is that I do I need to try and do it to the best of my God given ability and for His glory. I need to depend upon Him in all of my ways which I don't always remember to do. The world beckons but it's up to me not to give in to those temptations to sin. That can only be done in my life as I lean upon the Lord for His strength.

And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.(2 Corinthians 12:9)

But, I might also add, to be a person who is totally absorbed in one's self and to live a life that is about one's self alone is decidedly unhealthy. I used to be this way. Praise God He has been ever changing me. The sacrifice of myself is not worth one moment of this world's earthly pleasures. Though I stumble, though I fall, He is always there when I cry out to Him to forgive me and help me back up on my knees again.

Restating the obvious: God's love is, thank God, unconditional. It is of Himself. It's what sent Jesus here to die for our sins. It's why Jesus Himself chose to come and go through the terrible agony that He suffered on our behalves. Praise the LORD the Story didn't end there for three days later He arose from the grave! It was by the power of God's Holy Spirit that this was accomplished. So great is Yahweh's mercy and grace that He accomplished these things and will continue to accomplish that which He has spoken in His Word as He has told us. great that it's incomprehensible to the human heart.

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law." (Galatians 5:22-23)

I long to live a life a of love. Love for God and love for others. If I truly love God I will choose to obey Him. I don't feel that I deserve the love of God. And I'm right about that because no one does. My love is fleshly and conditional as it only thrives when others that I am supposed to love do things that please me or that I personally approve of. That's not love at all. Love mean's encouraging the one's we profess to love, even when we don't "feel like it."

I continually need to learn how to express my love for God. I want to obey God because I love Him. I want to show Him that I love Him by the choices that I make and I keep falling short in that area. But they say the only failure is that one who quits trying.

Jesus will be calling us Home sooner than we know. Though all the prophetical signs point to to His imminent return first the Rapture will occur. I am a pre-tribulationalist as I don't believe God would save His children just to have them go through the previously unknown, until then, evil times which are coming upon this earth by the hand of the anti-Christ.

Revelation 3:7 "I will keep you FROM the hour of trial which is coming upon the whole earth"

Man of Lawlessness:
Now we request you, brethren, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, that you not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit or a message or a letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy/falling away comes first, and the man of lawlessness/the anti-Christ is revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God.

Do you not remember that while I was still with you, I was telling you these things? And you know what restrains him now, so that in his time he will be revealed. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains/Holy Spirit will do so until he is taken out of the way. Then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming; that is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and signs and false wonders, and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved. For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false, in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the Truth/Jesus, but took pleasure in wickedness.(2 Thess 2:1-12))

The Church is not mentioned in Revelation Chapters 4-19 BECAUSE THE CHURCH IS IN HEAVEN DURING THE TRIBULATION.

Believers Who Have Died:

Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words.(Thess 4: 13-18)

Enoch and Elijah were "caught up" into Heaven without dying a physical death.

"Enoch walked faithfully with God 300 years and had other sons and daughters. Altogether, Enoch lived a total of 365 years. Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away."(Genesis 5:24)

2 Kings tells us that Elijah was carried like a whirlwind to heaven.

"As they were going along and talking, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire and horses of fire which separated the two of them. And Elijah went up by a whirlwind to heaven." (2 Kings 2:11)

Phillip preached to the eunuch - "When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord snatched Philip away; and the eunuch no longer saw him, but went on his way rejoicing." (Acts 8:39)

Phillip was raptured sideways, so to speak, into another place...

Was not the LORD Himself, in effect, raptured (Harpazo - caught up) up into Heaven as they watched?

"And after He/Jesus had said these things, He was lifted up while they were looking on, and a cloud received Him out of their sight." (Acts 1:9)

WHEN is the Rapture? Only GOD knows. It can happen at any moment. Faster than the blinking of an eye.

"Now I say this, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For this perishable must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality. But when this perishable will have put on the imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written, “Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law; but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord. (Cor 15:51-58)

"In my Father's house"
"In My Father's house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.(John 14:2)

Jesus said in Matthew 24:

"Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other will be left."

I believe in the pre-tribulation rapture as I believe the bible to teach.

If you are not saved you can be. Then you won't have to live in fear of what's coming. Not only that but you can make your life count for something in Christ now for without Him people can give away millions of dollars to the needy, or do any number of "good" things but they will count for nothing. Only that done in love for God through Jesus will last.

If you would like to be saved all you have to do is to admit your own sinfulness and need for The Savior and ask Jesus to come into your heart and be the LORD of your life. Use whatever words He gives you. It's not in fancy and articulate words that we are saved "in Christ" but it is the motive of our hearts. It's always about the motives of our hearts for we shall all be judged by our motives.

"Therefore do not go on passing judgment before the time, but wait until the Lord comes who will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of men's hearts; and then each man's praise will come to him from God." (1 Corinthians 4:5)

I hope this made sense and I wish that the good LORD bless each one of you who may happen to pass by this way. ❤ ✝ ❤
