Relevance of God in Modern Life - the Knowledge

Sometimes writers distance themselves from religious subjects. Religion is still taboo to speak about. Read about it instead.

To matter. All of us want to matter to someone, to be important and loved. There is little solace in life when trials beckon crushing the will to stand tall and a voice in the background of life calls out, "God is always there."

If that call is not accompanied by the hands attached to that voice to act as God's hands it means very little at the moment that it is offered. However, God is there, always.

Modern times can seem so lonely and uninviting, yet full of adventure and excitement. The emotional rollercoaster of modern life needs some steady line of static that serves as the rule for what people need to determine happiness. God offers that. God has answers to the questions of life that humanity has not yet found.

God is relevant today because He has answers that the brightest minds could search on their own for lifetimes, lifetimes and not find.'

What Came Before

Relevance of God in Modern Life - the Father

Parents are to children as God the Father is to the human race. With all the confusion in the world over religion, it is easy to dismiss this simple truth of all humans being related. Accept that truth, then the other truths make sense.

O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

— Apostle Paul via The Holy Bible Romans 11:33

God is important to Modern man because He has knowledge.

He knows More.

God created the heavens and the Earth. If organizing the elements of the universe does not qualify Him for His position to lead humanity to eternal happiness, what does?

Thousands of myth stories relate how existence came to fruition. Which one is right? Modern people do not want to believe in the fairytale-sounding stories of the Garden of Eden or Zeus molding clay. What does God have to offer the modern man then?

Because humanity is prepared to receive more because education has expanded perspective, God can reveal more. As primary school children, humanity is not ready to learn the physics of creation at God's level, but they are ready to think beyond parables of the stories of the scriptures alone and see the true power of God.

Jesus taught in parables so that only those mature enough to understand His teachings were responsible to accept and apply them by faith without condemning the others who could not perceive His teachings.

As the offspring of divine origin, humans have the attributes of God within. Creation's the birthright of humanity. Technology abounds almost to the point where it is seamless enough not to see it without a trained eye.

Think of a cell phone. How many moving parts are there? None! It is all code, words. Words instruct the device to act the way it does, the way users command it.

Users can speak to a phone, commanding it to call another person or tell its user where a location is or define terms. That's not miraculous to modern people. That's what the phones are designed to do.

God designed the universe to do what it does. The planets stay in their orbits around the star called the sun because it is written in the code. Earth holds a biosphere because like the cell phone casing, it protects the things inside that biosphere making the earth beautiful and teaming with life.

The word or code of God, The Master Scientist, runs through the universe. Humans do what their maker does, create and build. God knows the most about it since His cell phone is called the universe. Just like a cell phone is charged and maintained with care for it to last, God does the same with the Earth.

God has no equal. He knows things, and He knows how to use those things to get the best results each time.

With Superior Knowledge Comes Equivalent Intellect

God is an intellectual

A true master of the universe, being that He designed it to function perpetually without His having to prime the wheel, God has with that vast omniscience, wisdom, called intellect to match.

In a conversation with the ancient father of Israel, Abraham revealed that God taught him about the differing levels of intelligence among all of His creations.

And the Lord said unto me: These two facts do exist, that there are two spirits, one being more intelligent than the other; there shall be another more intelligent than they; I am the Lord thy God, I am more intelligent than they all. Abraham 3:18

God informed Abraham that there are varying levels of intelligence that exist, but that He, God, is the most intelligent. It's not out of arresting the amour-propre (or sense of one's own worth) of others, but stating a fact of existence, which indicates humility.

In a room full of four-year-olds, a physicist will find that if he or she tries to communicate with the preschoolers at his or her level about the laws of reality the conversation will be severely one-sided. Adults speaking to a physicist would balk and have little to say! In order for there to exist a dialogue, the physicist would need to condescend to where those who lack his or her intelligence are to have verbal interchange.

The physicist would share only the rudimentary information to those less intelligent than he or she until those to whom he or she speaks can grasp understanding to take it to a higher level. Determining the gravity of future conversations with the students for the physicist depends on the ability of the least among the group to understand. Individual conversations with the physicist will vary depending on the ability of each person to grasp reality.

The fact remains that God is the most intelligent setting the example never to exert His dominance opportunistically.

God has no equal.

Wounding the pride of the proud, humankind are to God what preschoolers are to a physicist. In fact, the comparison is not appropriately correct.

God has no equal. As He revealed to Abraham, He is the most intelligent. That means He knows things, and He knows how to use those things to get the best results each time.

Because of his omniscience, therefore, God knew that all the knowledge that He revealed to prophets over the ages would disappear except for a few books floating around as scripture, namely the Bible and The Book of Mormon.

Aware that each human would endure his or her own personal torment in life to help him or her gain a true understanding of what it is like to become like God, knowledgeable, God planned for things to happen as they do.

Crime, murder, rape, genocide, and all manner of wicked notions do not happen by accident. God allows those things to happen because humans have agency to act just like God has agency to act. Since some humans are more intelligent than others, they take advantage of the weaker ones using superior intellect or physical prerogative to progress. Intelligence makes agency a powerful tool in the hands of the children of God.

The fact remains that God is the most intelligent setting the example never to exert His dominance opportunistically. If all He wanted was to be worshipped as a dumb idol He could force humanity by his omnipotence. Since humankind are His offspring, He has a Plan of Happiness detailed out for humankind, a road map for the modern person to gain perfection.

"Eat nutritious foods and exercising will prevent many health problems," says the doctor.

"Following Jesus Christ and loving others qualify people for eternal life." says the God.
