Remember How You was Yesterday?

Updated on September 20, 2013

Remember How You Was Yesterday?

How often do you think of days gone by

And remember how things were yesterday?

The days of your youth have passed you by,

If you could would you change it in any way?

Maybe more sympathetic to trials of others

A pleasant word to help them through pain.

Would you be more loving, more forgiving

If you could just go back there once again?

In your heart could you be more like Jesus

And forgive others each and every wrong,

Could you be true in all that you would do,

Did God's love make you happy and strong?

Were folks back then glad to welcome you,

Did they love to see a smile upon your face?

Or were you welcomed as a storm at midnight,

Did you bring nothing with you but disgrace?

If all of your tomorrows are almost over now,

If you have lived all your life full of regret,

You still have breath within a sorrowing heart

There is still time to go to the Loving Jesus yet.

If you always thought someday you would pray

You would go and give the Lord your unruly heart.

Stop ! Don't wait another moment ,go to Him now.

He has waited years to see your teardrops start !

It would have been much better many years ago,

But Jesus still has His Heart full of Precious Love.

There are many folks singing up in Heaven now

Now that they know you will meet them up Above!

When we were young life was fun most

of the time back then ,few worries and a

whole life time ahead to make decisions

that would have to be made , but not

now, we were young and wanted to enjoy

being young and carefree. We wanted to

do what we liked and I guess we did not

always do the things that we should have

but after all, we were kids and wanted to

do things our way. We never looked ahead

to the future years of regret.,of saying if only

we had done things different then, too late

now. We have to feel sorry for the young

people today . We could have had God in

our lives then but a lot of us just refused Him.

Now all of those privileges of God and prayer

been taken away from them . How can we

expect a future of happiness for them now.?

All sin seems to be accepted and we have to

ask why we have let it come this far.Oh, Lord,

please help these young people who have had

so much stolen from them, Get to their hearts .

and help them to prepare for Heaven ,Satan

will rein and it will be a horrible place here on

earth , Reach them before it is too late!

Hello Faith, Thank you for your concern and love.My son left his wife for another woman and I have prayed so about it but I guess it is not to be .This has split our family apart ,more so since I have to be for my daughter -in-law,she has been a good wife and a good mother and certainly did not deserve all of this. This has all been so unexpected, and I appreciate everyone's prayers,I will try to put some poems on next week , I have been writing at this time , Not sure how many I will put on here . love you all. Hi Tessie , I am glad that God blots out all of our past sins forever. Wouldn't we hate to stand before The Lord with all of that old sin still clinging to us? Now if we could just get all of our loved ones to turn to Him we would be the happiest people in this old world , I guess we will have to pray harder than ever before. Love you, Cherry

A wonderful and true message and I think it probably applies to most of us at least somewhat, somewhere along life's way. If I could go back with what I know now, I would change and fix some things that I did wrong and I would do more good things that I failed to do. I have never lived a rough and roudy life, believed in God from a small child but looking back on the past now I can see things that needed done better or differently. I wish I could fix them all now but time waits for nobody and time for fixing past deeds have past. Learn from this and try to do the very best you can while there is still time. Time will pass and so will you and I and so will the loved ones whom we could have done a little more good for. Love always, Tessie

Hello Faith, Thank you for you for your nice comment.I can always count on you to say something uplifting and helpful . How sad if after years of serving the Lord we would let Satan creep in and steal our soul. Even in our latter days we must be on guard because Satan never rests. He knows he doses not have much time left to do his evil deeds , so we will have to watch out more for his devious ways. Love you, Clara

      Dear Clara,

Thank you for this wonderful piece here to make us think on those things we should think on! We should all be prepared to give an answer as to why we believe the way we believe, and to know His word in our hearts and share it with those who may have never heard.

His truth never comes back void! I believe if we are still here, then it is solely to glorify Him until He call us to our true home.

      Up and more and sharing

      God bless you,

      Faith Reaper

Hello Jackie, thank you for your comment ,I am glad that you like it.I guess you are right,I could talk until I am blue in the face like they say but people do not pay attention to me when I speak of God or Jesus ,but at times they will read what I have written,That seems to be my best way to tell them how I feel . I guess I have to let these poems speak for me.thank you, Jackie. love,Clara

A very good message, how many souls have we cost not being ready with the word? What use are we to this earth if we are not being used? Great food for thought Clara, up and sharing.
