Riding on the coat tails of Jesus .... That is all that we are doing!
The coat tails of Jesus.
I hate to think where any of us would be were if it not for Jesus. I really do. To put it plain and simple; not a single one of us would even have a chance. Not a chance. Not even a glimmer of hope for salvation. Not even a glimmer. No, not even one. We are filthy wretches and that much is for certain. This is all about His grace. We do not deserve His grace yet He gives it to us anyway. That is how much He loves us. I have come to the obvious realization that I am once again riding on the coat tails of Jesus. That is all that any of us are doing. He is all that I need and He is all that I ever will need. He alone is all we need. You and I needed a savior. It is more than evident and obvious when you look at the world and when you look in the mirror. We have that savior in Jesus Christ. None is righteous. No, not even one. We are not holy but He is holy. Why He loves me so I will never even begin to understand and contemplate but boy am I glad that He does. He really does and He loves you just as much. It is all about grace. It is not something we deserve. It is not something that we do. It certainly is not something we earn. it is pure grace. The Bible is so very powerful and the teachings of Jesus illustrate the how and the where that God wants us to be. If you remember the hemorrhaging woman from the Bible she thought if only I could touch His hem then I will be cured. She did just that and was healed from that moment on. Her faith saved her and healed her and it can do the very same thing for you. Let the love of our Savior work in your life. Jesus can and does do incredible things in a person's life. He manifests love consistently, completely and constantly. There is no love like His love. It is agape. It is indeed awesome. It always comes down to a choice. You can do it your way or you can do it God's way. Invite Him into your life. It will make all of the difference. His way is always the best way. He knows us better than we know ourselves. Accept His gift and ride on those coat tails as He invites you to eternity. He says abide in Me and I will abide in you. It is such a blessing. Understand that only through Him and Him alone are we saved. Here are some verses on dependence in the Bible:
Matthew 9:21 For she said to herself, "If only I should touch His garment I shall be made well." But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, " Be of good cheer, daughter, your faith has made you well." And the woman was made well from that hour.
John 15:5 I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in Him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
Psalm 62:5 My soul, wait silently for God alone, For my expectation is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation.
Isaiah 40:29 He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength.
Isaiah 40:31 But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength.
Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
John 6:35 And Jesus said to them, " I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst."
God bless always.
