Ronald Weinland changes his mind

Ronald Weinland has backtracked on his prophecy that Jesus Christ will return on May 27, 2012, preceded by a brief nuclear war. In a new post at ronaldweinland.com, dated May 26th, he writes:

We have believed that Jesus Christ would begin his return in the atmosphere of this earth today, the Sabbath day of May 26th. We have believed this to be a matter of timing for sundown in Jerusalem toward the end of May 26th. As I write this, that time is just about here and nothing has begun in the world that would signal the need or purpose for that reality—Christ’s return.

Although Weinland didn't exclude the possibility of Christ returning on the 27th, he continued on in his message on the assumption that He would not be returning, vowing to "move forward" if He didn't return..

One would assume that as "one of God's two witnesses" God would have given him accurate information as to His return, but it wasn't to be.

Those familiar with the Book of Revelation know that it predicted that the two witnesses would be killed and lie dead in the streets of Jerusalem for three and a half days. Weinland states that he wasn't disappointed when God told him they would not literally be killed after all!

Weinland then states that he is beginning work on his Pentecost sermon for next week. Undoubtedly he will also be working on his defense on charges of tax evasion on June 4th as well.

Unfortunately, self-styled "prophets" like Weinland and Harold Camping give non-Christians one more reason to dismiss the validity of Christianity. This is what happens whenever people focus on Christ's "followers" rather than on Christ Himself and the evidence for the truth of Christianity.

NOTE: Hubpages unpublished this hub on May 29th due to "duplicate content," from another site. That duplicate content was possibly a short quote from Weinland's website - a very short quote. More than likely Weinland has since been quoted on other websites now and the Hub machine sees this as a "duplicate." One quote has been removed, with one short quote left. Unfortunately, I also get flagged if I try to put a link to Weinland's website to back up the quotes.

Get it straight people!!!!!!!!!!!! God is not held by a man made calendar! Jesus the Christ said that no one knows the appointed day or hour of His return except the Father (God). Once God’s work of saving lost sinners whom He chooses through the Holy Spirit is done here on the earth He will send His Son Jesus and his angels to gather all His people up to be with him forever in a new heaven and a new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness and there shall be no more sorrow or sin. The old creation (the one we are in now) will be destroyed and all those who rejected Christ will be cast into etermal hell with Satan and his demons, eternally seperated from God forever. This is “the second death”. Stop playing games, turn to Jesus for salvation and bring forth fruit of repentance. It’s as simple as that. Enough said!!!

I am curious as to how Weinland's followers got so far off track, do they read the Bible in their congregation? or do they read some distorted wayward interpretation that Weinland has written? So let me get this straight, is Weinland claiming to be Moses, and his wife Elijah? if so that is absurd! I am curious to know if Weinland's followers; most if not all are unbelievers, I wonder because there are so many obvious warning signs into what this man has preached that is in direct conflict with God's Word. Just this afternoon I received his free book in the mail "2008 GODS FINAL WITNESS", I am going to read it thoroughly; "and it probably will not take much to derive and point out the errors that are in direct contradiction with Scripture". I am happy that the book arrived after May 27! ;) hopefully I will be able to finish reading it before the Myan calendar ends :)

Generally speaking, I wish Hubpages would quit censoring, and therefore delaying, these articles. These articles, quoting and based upon the Bible, show an insight that needs to be seen. I wonder what would be said if the other "side" was censored?

Someone before me says it's a shame his dire prophecy didn't come true?? WTF?? You would rather see mass death and destruction? Ronald Weinland is a sham, a charlatan, a cult leader wannabe who is making money off the mentally deluded. There's no shortage of people who see the glass as half empty and transfer their feelings of loss, loneliness and suffering onto the outside world... then comes along Ronald Weinland who fills that void.. It's an old trick, but still works.

If a prophet shows deception of any kinds, he/she is a false prophet. It is just that simple. I wish Ronald Weinland would be left mute so that he can no longer attempt to corrupt people. He has misled thousands and needs to be stopped. I believe in free speech but he is ridiculous. If Jesus is truly coming, i hope he will deal with people like him promptly. If he doesn't appear, I hope humanity will wake up and stop listening to him.

Have a great end of the world everyone! www.thelogicaleffect.com

There's a reason it says in the New Testament "When the Son of Man returns.... Will be find faith on the earth?"

Christ prophecied that there would be false prophets. Our duty is to see them for what they are. And let God judge them.

Ron Weinland simply doesn’t get it. Along with Camping, Van Impe, Hal Lindsey, and the left behind bunch he was looking for that which has already happened.

MT. 24:34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

His gross and blasphemic doctrine of works salvation should be discussed.Armstrongism

      is destroyed by Paul in

      Col. 2: 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

16 ¶ Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

When he comes again,he will come the same way he left.He will come in the clouds in all his glory and in the glory of the Father, with his holy angels. With a shout, and every eye will see him!And the dead will rise first, then those who are his who have survived the tribulation will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air. There is no pre-trib.rapture that is totaly false teaching! There is only the 2nd coming. When he will gather everything that is his to himself. Then his wrath will be poured out on the rest of the world who rejected his mercy and had pleasure in unrighteousness. The tares(children of the devil) are reaped first.Bound and cast into the fire. Then the wheat(children of the Kingdom) is havested into the barn. There will be some kind of disaster that many will claim to be the rapture. But it is the tares being takin, not the wheat! Where Lord they ask? Jesus said, Where the eagles are gathered. There will the bodies be. Time for anyone calling themselves christan,to start studing the bible and seeking God and being taught by the Holy Spirit and take heed of the many clear warnings thoughout the bible about last day false teachers! You can not trust in a man or a popular doctrine. You need to study to show theyself appoved.Rightly dividing the word of truth. And stop serving God with respect of persons!

This is why God called for death in the Old Testament for false prophets.

I think it's somewhat of a shame that this prophecy didn't come true, not that I'm a fan of Ron, but because I feel that too many people will react to this failed prophecy by saying, "Woo-hoo, let's par-TAY - drinking, brawling and whoring - because God is totally cool with us!" I think that's the wrong way to react to this and will only lead this country down the road to real ruin.

The Devil has a fiery place in Hell for this man. Tax evasion. False prophesies. Weinland is brainwashing his members and calling it something else.

Even though the Bible states there are going to be people like this, stating things like this, that people will believe and follow them. What is sad about the hole thing is that some day Jesus will return and so many will not believe because of how it has been preached in the past.

If we live every day as if he was going to come back that day nobody would have to worried about being ready for him. If you think that a pre warning of a few hours, days , months. Our Father needs time to get to know us, it is impossible for him to know anybody in just a few days or by someone else introducing us to him. If anybody thinks that they are able to know God and Jesus in just a few days you are mistaken.

When someone starts talking like this guy with a definite date get away as fast as you possibly are able.

Be prepared in your own being to be ready when it does happen, and it WILL happen.
