Round The Clock We Run And Seldom Rest

Updated on November 15, 2011

Round The Clock We Run And Seldom Rest

Round the clock we run and seldom do we rest,

When we take time for God,it's always second best.

Second best is wrong we know without a doubt,

What  can we do when we are always running about?

We are always hurrying about rushing to and fro.

It just seems to be a habit to be always on the go.

If we think about Jesus sometime during the day,

We vow that tonight we will take the time to pray.

Always we are hurrying and when day is through,

We fall in bed exhausted for what else can we do?

We would go on our knees and say  a little prayer.

What would be the use? We'd fall asleep right there.

Some changes we must make in this  way that we live.

In this daily cycle little thought to Jesus do we give.

If Jesus would return today  how sad would be our lot.

Instead of glad rejoicing, "Depart ,for I know you not !"

Who ever thought that someday life would

be such a maddening pace? You dreamed

of future years when you could just relax

and enjoy life , what happened to that

dream? I am sure Satan had something

to do with this, he does  not want people

to spend time on their knees in prayer. He

know he does not have much time left to

turn  us from God, so he has to try to

keep us so busy that we don't have time

to worship like we should. We have to

defeat the devil,leave some things

undone and spend the time with

The Lord. You won't regret it!

I was glad to get your comment, if the poem touched your heart maybe it will affect some others the same way .Yes He is, when I started writing poetry years ago I just wrote because I wanted to and I never thought they would go around the world to so many places Years ago we never thought of such a thing .I used to just write what ever came to mind but it wasn't the best ,it was never anything bad that I wrote but I wanted to be able to write better . I wrote a poem, "He Touched My Pen" I can't put it on here , I had it on another web site , But the last of it was "It Was Only When I said I would write for Him alone ,That's when He touched my pen. Now you know how I really got started writing for God.I guess that is enough for now, Have a good Day. clara

May I clarify. I was glad to hear the word. Your gracious poem touched my heart and reminded me to slow down to listen and appreciate my time with the Lord. Of course you are a preacher. When the congregation comes to church one week, the preacher should hand them a copy of this poem and send evryone home to fellowship with their family. The Lord is very creative, you know.

I am not a preacher , I am just someone writing for God He gives me a few words and I take it from there ,I would like to be a fisher of men,but I could never be a preacher,I can not get up and talk like they do. I just write. When I used to take the poems to church I always had someone else read them. Thanks for the comment anyway, I do my best this way clara hope you keep on reading.

Have you been following me around? Even when you are "between churches", the Lord will not allow you to escape the preacher!
