Rules That Lead To Joy

Updated on November 2, 2010

Have you ever thought about why rules were made, and who first made the rules for us to follow?

People say that rules are made to be broken, now if they are broken which many have been, but what about the consequences that will come from breaking the rules.

Do we ever stop and think about that, not really do we?

The government makes rules and boundaries for us to follow, and when these are broken we do get caught and must face up to the punishment that will come to us.

When you set boundaries for your children to follow you expect them to adhere to them and obey them.

What happens when they do their own thing and not stay in the area that you have laid down.

Do you tell them that they were wrong and now must face the punishment.

God expects his children to follow his commandments, He made laws and rulings for us to follow.

We can be thankful that God has established rules and standards for us to follow, without these boundaries we would be in chaos and not in freedom.

As we live in a broken world we need a safe guard from unmoral ways of this fallen world of sinners.

We can be thankful that God did make these rules and set the boundaries for us who has defined moral absolutes.

Sinners could not be trusted to define goodness or justice.

Christ has opened the way for us to go back to God the Father and receive the relationship with Him that was lost when His laws were broken.

* He has made a way for our sins to be forgiven. John 3: 16,17. "For God so loveed the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him"

* He has provided renewal for all of our life. (2nd.Cor.5: 16-21)

* He gives us the power to carry out his work. (Ac. 1:6-8)

* He has established guidelines for proper conduct. (1st. Jn. 2:7-17)

When we break any of God's laws (rules) we find hardship coming on us, but when we follow them we can be fullfilled with  happiness, be fruitful, and joyful as we look forward to the promise of eternal life.

Have you chosen to follow God's laws and now waiting for the promise of eternal life?

It is 'awesome' to know that God's rules were given for our good. And I recently realized that eternal life has already started - we just will step out of Time...

Thank you for sharing; have enjoyed several of your poems too.
