Secrets of the Mason

Updated on July 1, 2011

A friend of mine told me that he had become a mason a few years ago and was now a Shriner.

I know there will be plenty of people reading this article and to tell you the truth, I don't know a darn thing about the Masons. Not many people do if you are not one of the brethern. My father was a mason back in the 1960's but never became a Shriner because he died suddenly of a heart attack. The Shriners are made up of men that are joined by a bond. They first become Masons and then after many lessons eventually become a Shriner. You can see Shriners just about everywhere; at malls selling food items or whatever, at barbecues that charge a few bucks for a hot dog or hamburger, at the Shriners Circus and eleswhere. They're everywhere and one of their goals is to raise money for hospitals, charities, people in general that have suffered some sort of setback. They stand for just about anything that brings about the good of society.

But, I ask you, is the mason fraternity a cult?

Quote from the meaning: "The term Masonic Temple originates in Masonic ritual and tradition. Masonic tradition, as expressed through the fraternity's ritual, holds that the first Masonic Lodge was formed at the building of King Solomon's Temple in Jerusalem, and that Freemasons are the philosophical heirs of the operative stonemasons who build it. A Freemason engages in building "a spiritual temple in his heart" a "house not made with hands" that echos the physical temple built by operative stonemasons in Jerusalem".

All lodges are, symbolically, a continuation of that founding lodge in Jerusalem. Whenever Masons meet, they claim to do so "in a place representing King Solomon's Temple". This representation is created by the officers and brethren of the lodge sitting or standing in a rectangle, facing inwards (thereby forming the symbolic walls of the Temple). In the center of this space is a table or altar, upon which is placed the bible (or other holy book, depending on the religious make-up of the lodge) representing the Sanctum Sanctorum of the Temple. Thus, the brethren form a "Masonic Temple" whenever they meet, regardless of the location of the gathering". End of Quote.

But what are the masons truly about in todays world? The average person knows absolutely nothing about what goes on behind those closed doors. And why are women not allowed in to this secret society? If you were to question a mason about what goes on at his meetings, the answer would be "I can't tell you". Once you become a mason and learn the secrets of the brotherhood, you must swear to never reveal those secrets to anyone outside of this tight knit society. And if they do, what happens to them? Will they disappear at some point into the shadows of the night - will they be killed off like some evil traitor - what would actually happen to them? All that is told to you is -" why not become a mason and see for yourself".

No one will actually invite you personally to come and join their ranks. That is not how it works. You must be willing and wanting in your own heart to become a mason and once you're in, you must never reveal the secrets. That's just about all I know about the masons, but I did just a small amout of research on this secret society because - like the cat - curiousity. But as the saying goes "curiousity kills the cat". Well - I didn't want to dig too deep into what ancient secrets lie behind these walls known as "The Masonic Temple" because I'm not quite ready to die yet or be killed off, whichever it is. But I've heard that you must go through some kind of "play" in front of the others at one of their meetings before you are annointed "brethern".

And what's with this "secret Handshake"? I always wondered why my friend shakes hands with me as if I had some kind of disease. It's not a man's handshake. I don't know what kind of handshake it is. All I know is that it felt really weird and too soft to be a real man's handshake, but my friend went from having a real bone breaking handshake to this weird soft touch, not all there kind of shake. It's hard to explain. But I have some videos below this article that will give you a better idea of what I'm talking about.

You'll be amazed to find out what sort of people make up this society of secretive men. Did you know that George W. Bush, Bush Senior, Tony Blair and many other prominent leaders of the free world are members of this secret fraternity, including the current President of the United States, Barack Obama? You'll see them below in the videos I've selected. I was shocked when I heard this and actually saw these guys giving the secret handshake, which is not much of a secret anymore. So, when anyone gives you a handshake like you're going to see here, be aware that they are members of the clan, this secret society of the "Creators" chosen few who are out to change the world -- to make the world a better place for everyone, and you will see many of them carrying a Bible, the book which is part of the membership ritual.

Tony Blair was chastised and told by members of his own government that he should not go to war with Iraq and Saddam Hussein, but Tony Blair had no choice. His brother across the ocean, the President of the United States, George W. Bush was quite determined to take Saddam out and he was asking for the Brits help. Blair could not turn his back on one of his own. Bush and Blair are joined by the hip, as brothers in the secret society of the masons. The movie, "Fair Game", which I watched a few weeks ago is something that everyone should watch. Then you will realize that it was Bush and Bush alone who wanted Saddams head and he was going to get it no matter what. Saddam had come close to assassinating George's Dad in Kuwait in the first Gulf war and George was going to get Saddam, no matter what. Blair was backed into a corner. Would he let his brother down or would he back his fellow mason? History has told the story. There were no weapons of mass destruction and Bush knew it. Watch "Fair Game", a true story and you'll know the truth. Masons are a strong lot when they stand together and many of their group members are the world's leaders of today. The Pope is in one of the videos below. This is scary stuff.

I don't think I want to become a mason but many do and I say -- Good Luck with it. I can live without knowing your secrets but from the little bit of research I did thus far, it seems to me that the masons are not only out to change the world for the better, but they are all members of a "Cult", something which they all deny. But there's no denying that they stick up for each other and do things that normally they would never have done outside of this group, and that's OK, I guess. But is the true goal and secret of the mason really one of changing the world and making it a better place or are they all just being brainwashed by the Grand Master, the Head Puba.

Now there's nothing wrong about being a member of this society, if this is what you want, but right now, I don't want it. If you can't tell me what goes on behind closed doors to get me to become a member, then thanks, but no thanks. I want to know what I'm getting into first, even though lots of charity money has been raised by these guys. But what is really a Mason about? Well -- you'll just have to join up one day and find out for yourself and when you do, can you please tell me the Secret?

I'm not certain what it is they are hiding. I do know that the Christian faith is one of openness and not a secret society. We share the joy, love and peace that we have found through Jesus Christ, and gladly give testimony of what He has done in our lives. If not for Him, I would have still been caught up in the streets and the drugs and the filthy sin that consumed my every waking minute. Praise be to God, for He has made me a different person than that. So undeserving and spiritually "dirty", but by grace I've been delivered from all of what the world has to offer. Whew! Praise God!! Sincerely,

Now this is only my opinion. I hope I didn't scare you away from joining up with the wolf pack. I was only writing what I felt because I hate people whispering behind my back and this is what the Masons do best -- just tell me the damn secret so everyone can know what your group is all about. What are they hiding?

You pose some interesting questions ianleverette47. A few things about the masons. Yes, they use a Bible, but also the Koran and other religious writings. Every piece of the Shriner's uniform is representative of one religion or another. Masons believe there is a god and that there are many roads to heaven. I believe in Jesus and that His Father is God. "No one comes unto the Father but by me."Jesus told us not to call any man "father" and to worship no man. To become a member of the masons, initiation consists of bowing to your knees on one side of a table and calling the man on the other side of the table "Supreme Being" in some form of a chant or pledge. Masons wear aprons made of wool. Matthew chapter 7 verse 15: "Beware of prophets, which come in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves." I don't think I'll join. Thank you for the eye opener. Sincerely,

Good hub. When I was a child, I remember seeing Mason's wearing those funny looking hats. And also I seen the "Flintstones" cartoon when Fred and Barney wore the same hats, clothes, and rituals as the Mason's. Interesting Thanks
