God loves a cheerfull giver.

The primary reason that God gives you is so that you would be able to serve him with that what he has given you. Everything we own belongs to God and therefore we should not withhold from him. Remember that anything that is so precious to you that you cannot bring yourself to offer to God is your idol. Jesus informed us that he came to give us life and in abundance. We should therefore strive to live a good life especially if we are ready to share with God our blessings for his kingdom. Gifts for building the temple: Here King David used a lot of his blessings in form of his wealth, to prepare for the construction of the temple at Jerusalem.
