" The sixth angel sounded his trumpet, and I heard a voice coming from the four horns of the golden altar that is before God. It said to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, 'Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates. And the four angels who had been kept ready for this very hour and day and month and year were released to kill a third of mankind. The number of the mounted troops was twice ten thousand times ten thousand. I heard their number.

The horses and riders I saw in my vision looked like this. Their breastplates were fiery red, dark blue, and yellow as sulfur. The heads of the horses resembled the heads of lions, and out of their mouths come fire, smoke and sulfur. A third of mankind was killed by the three plagues of fire, smoke and sulfur that came out of their mouth. The power of the horses was in their mouths and in their tails for their tails were like snakes, having heads with which they inflict injury."

Revelation 9:13-19

Will there be World War 3? Where it will start?

This is the big question mark that puzzles many. Presently, a great deal of military tensions take place around the globe. There is the Middle East conflict between Iran and Israel, between US and Turkey, US and Iran, the conflict between China and India, the conflict between South Korea and North Korea, China and Taiwan, China and Hongkong. Which of these wars might cause World War 3? The Bible reveals in the passage above , that a great war will happen triggered by a 200-million strong military might. Revelation 9:16 records this information, 'twice ten thousand times ten thousand, as the size of the army. Twice ten thousand is twenty thousand, then twenty thousand multiplied by ten thousand ( 20000*10000) equals 200,000,000 or 200 million. It is written in the Bible that it is released to kill a third of mankind, or about 2.6 billion people. Whose army is this?

It is implied in Revelation 9:19 that it speaks of a dragon-like figure. According to the passage, the power of the horses lies in its mouth for it spews out fire, and its tail, for it whips mightily with a deadly whip. Which nation of the world uses "dragon" as its symbol? I have only one nation in my mind, China, which else? The passage made mention of the creature whose head resembles that of a lion. The lion is a symbol for courage, strength, power, authority, supremacy, wisdom, pride, an exact depiction of China as a nation. China has now gained supremacy in Asia. It is supreme in economy, military prowess, intellectual capability, technological advancement.

Thus it is implied in the given passage that China or the "kings of the East" will cause a great war to happen in the world that will bring about the death of about 2.6 billion people, which is about a third of the world's current total population of about 7.8 billion. Why there is a war involved? Revelation 9:17 made mention of fire, smoke and sulfur that was coming out of the dragon's mouth. Sulfur is also known as brimstone or burning stone, a substance used in producing gun powder, matches and fireworks.

Many biblical scholars assumed that this prophecy in Revelation 9:13-19 will be fulfilled by China, since China has already reached a total population of over 1.3 billion. The present crisis in the South China Sea may bring about the fulfillment of Revelation 9:13-16. This is included in the 2020's top five World War 3 hotspots.

Based on a report made by BBC News, China has backed its expansive claims over the region with island-building and naval patrol. The US contends that they do not take sides in these territorial disputes involving the region but has sent military ships and planes near the island to carry out operations to maintain "freedom of navigation," to ensure continual access to key shipping and air routes. Both US and China accused each other of militarising the South China Sea("Why is the South China Sea Contentious?," 2016). China, Vietnam, Philippines, Taiwan, Malaysia and Brunei make claims in the region.

According to one source, the Caspianreport, about 3.4 trillion USD worth of trade passes through the South China Sea annually, a third of global maritime trade. There is also a promise of rich crude oil and natural gas resources beneath. A large portion of the seas, is a rich fishing ground.

Recently, the US strengthen its military presence in the disputed region by sending two huge US Navy carriers and B-52 bombers. This creates provocation to China. Seemingly war has become inevitable and the only solution in the region.

Searching out the Bible, many times God uses a mighty nation to bring about His judgement. In the Old Testament times, God used the mighty wicked nation Babylon to bring down His judgement upon Israel for Israel had become a wayward nation that lived in utter disobedience. They had forsaken the ways of righteousness and lived just like the the rest of the pagan nations who had no knowledge and understanding of God.

The conflict in the South China Sea is a stern warning for us and a call to repentance. It is about time to search our ways and repent from our worldly, carnal and wicked ways. It is time to seek the Lord with all our hearts and forsake all ungodly pursuits. It is time to pursue a strong and deep relationship with Him. World War 3 may happen after the "harpazo" or "rapture. If we are witnessing now the onset of this great war, "harpazo" could be at hand since "harpazo" or "rapture" might happen before the sixth seal of Revelation and this great war will take place on the sixth trumpet of the seventh seal.

If you still do not have a personal relationship with God, it is about time to pursue this relationship with Him. It is the most important relationship you can have in this world and the only thing that matters in eternity. You can have this relationship by following these steps:

1) You must have an understanding of your real spiritual condition before God. The Bible reveals in Romans 3:23 that all men sinned and fell short of God's standard of holiness and righteousness. God's standard is perfect holiness and righteousness. As it is written in the Scripture, a violation of one command in the Law is a violation of the entire Law. Thus if the Law or ten commandments will be the basis for judging us, no one will be saved.

2) God is a merciful God that He Himself provided a solution for man's incapability to save himself by sending His Son Jesus to die for us.

3)Jesus came into this world about two thousand years ago to offer Himself as a sacrifice for our complete absolution. He died on the cross to die in our place that we will no longer be condemned for our sin. He was burried and rose again on the third day to prove that there will be resurrection for all forgiven sinners. We have to place our faith on Christ finished work on calvary to receive forgiveness.

4) We have to repent from our sinful, worldly, carnal andself-centered lifestyle and surrender ourselves completely our life to Christ's Lordship.

After accomplishing these, we can be assured of a new relationship with God as our Father as it is written in John 1:12;

" Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God."
