Soul, Spirit & Holy Spirit
Soul & Spirit
Confusion abounds without a doubt. A detailed careful study, will reveal, that much of what professed Christianity teaches, has been contaminated by Neo-Platonic philosophies.
Ancient Hebrew, and Koine Greek, the major source languages of the 'Old Testament' and 'New Testament', reveal that, a soul, is the fleshly organism, itself.
Genesis 2:7 (American Standard Version)
7 And Jehovah God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Ezekiel 18:4 (King James Version)
4Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.
The spirit, is what keeps you alive, what energizes and animates an organism.
These terms should not be confused with spirit beings, as in angels, and the Creator, is described as a Spirit, likewise, the Word.
The holy spirit, is, the non-being force by which God Almighty, utilizes and influences things and people, to achieve a desired result. God's holy spirit was utilized in the creation, and people may cultivate its fruitage, which include, love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, mildness, and self-control.
Many Bible characters received holy spirit and as a result were helped to perform extra-ordinary feats. One should be careful not to confuse Satan's
counterfeit acts with that of JEHOVAH's holy spirit. Remember, that Egyptian pharaoh's priests were able to perform some of Moses' God-appointed miracles.
