Spirit Versus Flesh

Updated on July 31, 2016

Spirit of Angels Devoid of Symbols, Jewelry and Bangels

What Should Control Mind Body and Soul

We all are made of Flesh and bones and we all have the mental Spirit of superiority. Spirit along with faith (in the way I will explain it) is seldom used by humanity unfortunately, but Spirit travels on the straight and narrow road.

Zechariah 4:6

Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.

The Lord God is Spirit. You’ve heard of the Spirit of God. We can only communicate and relate to God by our own righteous spirit and also, through spirit of our prayers.

Spirit no longer wrestles with Flesh simply because the beholder of them both has decided to put the righteous Spirit in charge of things. The beholder immediately discovered that Spirit has an enormous strength and discernment of its own. Flesh has reigned between the two, for the most part, of the life of the beholder. Remember, Spirit is not a mighty wind. It is not even forceful. It simply appears in mind and appeals to it as well for us beholders to choose its rightful course of action, to take if when there is doubt. Once Spirit was conscientiously, allowed to take over, Flesh no longer stood a chance to rule against Spirit. The wrongfulness of Flesh is bound to be dominated by Spirit. Spirit is only of God that relates to the spirit of angles to the spirit of humanity. Spirit shall not be defeated once given control. It shall be sure to guide the beholder to the proper destiny. Spirit is even righteous toward the enemy. Spirit is the awesome friend of its beholder. Spirit allows more preparation of the beholder than any other entity of preparation for things to come. Flesh was meant to be subsequent to Spirit. The cart (flesh) should never be allowed to come before the horse (spirit).

What The Lord Says About Spirit

Genesis 6:3

And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

Spirit has been lurking in the mind since birth of the beholder. Spirit has had to wait until maturity of the beholder for the beholder to allow it the authority to rule mind, body and Flesh. Spirit does not associate with Flesh. The Spirit was meant to have authority over Flesh. Spirit is maintained on the straight and narrow way. Faith is a component of Spirit. In these last days of earth’s existence, Spirit is needed to guide anyone destined as brothers and sisters of Christ especially, at His return to earth.

A Second Birthday

On the day that anyone accepts Spirit (no looking back) as the denominator/dominating factor in one’s life should be marked as a second and spiritual birthday that is worthy of celebrating and perhaps, better than the first, initial and Flesh/physical birthday. Spirit is also a regulator and disciplinarian of character. Spirit allows one to receive everything that the beholder has rightfully coming in life. Flesh is therefore, no longer cheated by receiving less than what is deserved according to Spirit.

Finally, nothing can supersede and out do Spirit. For Spirit allows the beholder to live out the full potential of life successfully. Last but not least and because of unforeseen benefits, Spirit alleviates all wrongdoing and sin. Spirit proves that all things are possible with God. Matthew 19:26

But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. (Men referred here is according to Flesh).

Not By Might, Not By Power, But By My Spirit to Yours

Norine, again your comment is contradictory, also, it is nearly more than the hub itself. You constantly say study the scriptures. I am a lifetime student of the Bible. You fail to answer the few questions that I've asked you yet, you say you love me? How deep is your love for me? Help me to know. Show me some love for a change. Is your love shown by your idea of correcting me? Oblige me by showing picture of you or you and yours (whichever). Answer my questions rightfully since you are so righteous and honest.

You have this problem solved brother: Born of God is born of God's nature - thus spirit-man is in charge "Anyone born of God refuses to practice sin, because God's seed abides in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God."

      Norine, Read 1 Thessalonians 5:10-12

He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. [ Final Instructions ] Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you. God wants us to love one another, uplift one another and not judge one another. The Bible, God and Jesus does the correcting of the people and the Saints. You are to spread the gospel (The Great Commission) ss Jesus said in Mathew 28:19-20. That's all you are responsible for but you don't do that. You attack God's people. Confess and stop the satanic attacks. Why dont you respond to my questions, you who claims to love me?

No! You "really mean" anything that doesn't agree with our "itching ears" or belief (TRUTH which Satan "HATES!") "should be left on their HUB!"

      SATAN has entered you "Peter!"

Hi Norine, I appreciate your visiting and any understandable comment left on any of my hubs but any comment that you wish to leave for someone else should be done on a hub of that person.

Great Hub. The Temple or body is an instrument or vehicle of Spirit. 1 Corinthians 3: 16.

Word, the struggle between Spirit and Flesh continues, and as you said, "The Spirit was meant to have authority over Flesh." So, it is good counsel to give the control to the Spirit.

Hi Norine, Thanks for stooping by and leavuing your comment. The wind you spoke of from the Spirit was a rare and unusual force that came at Pentecost. The Spirit that I spoke of in the article is Spirit that guides us everyday as long as we rely on it. It has nothing to do with man or Flesh. It is not a mighty wind in the way that it works with me. We have the option to walk by Spirit and not by sight. We may use Spirit over Flesh. It doesn't take religion for the Holy Spirit to have a certain characteristic.

"Remember, Spirit is not a mighty wind. It is not even forceful. It simply appears in mind and appeals to it as well for us beholders to choose its rightful course of action, to take if when there is doubt."

This defies Scripture! Acts 2:2 says "And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a RUSHING MIGHT WIND..." Why would you say IT is NOT a "mighty wind?" Acts 1:8 says "But ye shall receive POWER, after that the Holy Spirit is come upon you..." Why would you say "It is not even forceful?" You don't think POWER is "forceful?" IT must have been "forceful" because to the unbelievers in Acts 2:13, the unbelievers said "...These men are full of new wine." It seems as though they were drunk or stumbling around but "politically correct" RELIGION would have you believe the Holy Spirit is a calm, peaceful, guidance of the mind.

Don't let "man" (Satan) deceive you WORD! "STUDY" for yourself (II Timothy 2:15)!

As long as mankind exists there will be a battle between the spirit vs the flesh and often we walk a fine line. You covered the topic very well, Al.
