~ Psalm 5 ~ Spiritual Journey From The Beginning To The End Of The Psalm ~

The Psalms are a marvelous place to daily retreat. Read, ponder and digest them wholeheartedly. And then eagerly launch into your day with enthusiasm!. They are filled with a spectacular compendium of enlightening and invigorating godly wisdom. In them you will find Psalms of, Lamentations, Thanksgiving, Wisdom, Imprecatory, Pilgrimage, Hope, Royalty, God’s Sovereignty and so much more. Here in these Psalms we are also able to learn the importance of Adoration, Praise, Prayer and Worship. The early morning is usually a good time because your mind is less congested. Starting the day out with your mind in the right place is helpful. This will or can make a great impact on the overall tenor of your day.

Anxiety, doubt, fear, anger, depression, insecurity, hate, excitement, wonder, amazement, joy and love are some of the emotions experienced by all of us at one time or another… The spiritually inspired Psalmists have a marvelous manner in which they openly share and honestly express and confess transparently to the Lord. It is here within these Psalms you are able to experience the gamut of their emotions. It is important that we do not deny our feelings, but rather learn to responsibly express them in a healthy manner. The Psalms are inclusive of a treasure of wisdom to help and encourage us become disciplined.

God always knows however it is we are feeling. This is why it is so very important to spend time with Him alone. As we begin to honestly and earnestly learn to relate to God as being our Creator and Maker we actually become freer. As we are attentive and obedient, He is able to direct us in the path in which we should go. This is in fact: "The Path of Righteousness. This is also known as; "The Narrow Path" which leads to God. This the less traveled path.

God can keep us on the straight and narrow road that leads to Him.

Life is a precious gift from God. He wants you and I to maximize each day He has made. Keep in mind that each day really is a precious gift from God. The Psalms are a plethora of spiritually expressed inspired Praise to the Lord. God's Word is alive! If your day is not going good turn to The Psalms, pray, read and spiritually digest them until your soul is lifted. Yes, you can be enlightened. I assure you there is power in sincere Praise!

David was a powerful man. He is attributed to writing over (70) seventy of the Psalms. There is a wealth of spiritual wisdom one can glean from this wise man who dearly loved God. No doubt David diligently kept his face before the Lord. As we look closely, we can see he had an ongoing growing spiritual relationship with the Lord. Keeping the lines of communication open with the Lord keeps us connected. As long as we are connected to the God as a Spiritual Vine we can gain access the greatest magnificent source of life! Jesus tells us: “Abide in ME. And I in you, as the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless, it abides in the Vine, neither can you unless you abide in Me.” John 15.

As we study the Psalms, we can see that David was a man of strength and noble character. We are also able to see the results of what happened when he succumbed to his weaknesses. He is a godly man with many marvelous attributes! He also had his shortcomings. We can learn from him as a powerful king, leader, businessman, father and husband as well as a friend and a foe. Here in this particular Psalm he is passionately crying out to the Lord because he has been viciously slandered.

~ PSALM 5 ~

If you truly desire to have a good relationship with the Lord you must begin to spend time in prayer, meditation and also in His Word. In any growing healthy, vigorous relationship you must establish TRUST! We must learn to trust God in every area of our lives. We must entrust our wellbeing and happiness to Him. Our relationship with Him must be totally transparent. God always knows if and when he is a priority within our lives. The beautiful thing to know about God is; His Love is eternal because He is eternal.

Never let anyone make you doubt God. For He is The Spirit of Truth! Therefore, it is always important to be straight with God. This is why confession is good for the soul. Keep in mind He always knows absolutely everything about everyone and everything past, present and future. It is really about humbling yourself to Him for He already knows all about us. Therefore, you must learn to be open and honest with Him. This is how you learn to become strong in Him...

It may be hard for our little finite minds to conceive that God knows everything about everyone, everywhere. But He does; He is Omniscient! The carnal mind does not readily receive the things of God. However, God does not want us to be ignorant. We have been created in His image. As we grow spiritually in His grace and knowledge, we can begin to better learn to comprehend some of the spiritual things of our Heavenly Father God. He is always able to take us to deeper depths and higher heights. As we learn more about God we are to apply and embrace whatever we are learning within our daily lives. Correction is a part of love. God holds us accountable for what we know. As we grow closer to Him our trust in Him begins to deepen. The more we grow spiritually the more dependent we become upon Him as our Father and Lord. We can freely express to Him our thoughts aloud or even without even uttering a word!

As we spiritually grow, we know the importance of crying out to Him with our hearts. We can readily invite Him into any of the “messiness” that attempts to shroud our lives at times… We rest knowing that at some point in His time He will direct us and eventually work whatever is going on out for our good… There is also a wonderful unexplainable Peace that comes from the Lord as you wait upon Him. This is also a great opportunity to more acquire patience which is part of the Fruit of His Spirit. “Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my sighing Listen to my cry for help, my King and my GOD, for to You I pray. In the morning O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.”

As I said earlier at the time of this Psalm David was being slandered. He was slandered by his own flesh and blood. He was betrayed by those he loved and had helped as well. Here we can learn great life lessons. What really is actually taking place is spiritual warfare. It always wants to divide, separate and usually present lies… No matter how hard you try there will ALWAYS be those who will undermine your good intentions. No matter what you do they will draw their conclusions from often felonious and erroneous sources… Don't fret just keep your focus on God.

You can not be everything to everyone. Always remember; GOD sees everything you do everywhere. Some will believe what is not true not realizing that they are being deceived. It is important to KNOW that GOD is The SPIRIT of TRUTH. And satan is a slanderer the father of lies and a deceiver… It can be a bit disheartening; sometimes you must hold your peace. Do not let it put you in bondage. I always say; "Halllelllujah Anyhow!" Grin and bear it. It is during times like this we must learn to draw even closer to the LORD. As the Word says; “The TRUTH sets YOU FREE!!!”

God never sanctions sin.

God will never tell us to do anything that goes against His Word or principles. Do not let anyone make you compromise what you know to be right. We are living in a time when many live iniquitously; they are being deceived and are embracing the way of the world over what God has said. They condone sin and often boldly oppose the Word of God. God wants to be in every area of our lives... Sin is whatever separates you from God. It allows satan to gain a stronghold… This is why we all need a Savior! Prayer, meditation, confession and Praise will help you live victoriously for the Lord!

Do you realize that when Jesus came, He was not readily accepted by many…? He was considered a treat because He exposed error in the established religious system and governing authorities… He came to teach them a better way! He instead encouraged developing a personal relationship with the Lord. We know that Jesus was eventually crucified. Yet, *He never ever did anything wrong. They were intimidated because it undermined their authority and ability to gain control over Him… Therefore, they banned together and sought ways to destroy Him… Keep in mind Jesus knew exactly what they were saying, thinking and doing. How ironic since He always only wanted what was RIGHT! Yet, He was slandered for telling the TRUTH!

*"ALL HAVE SINNED AND FALLEN SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD..." ROMANS 3 This is why we ALL need CHRIST JESUS AS SAVIOR & LORD!!

As children of God, we need His Holy Spirit to help us navigate through this world that is gradually more and more setting aside the things of God. It is truly on a "slippery slope" History is repeating itself. There are so many things to distract us from the “Narrow Path” that leads to Him. PRAISE BE TO GOD! But with the HELP of the LORD we can STAND upon HIS WORD! Many will sit down and watch from the sidelines when you “STAND UP!” for what is right. This is why it is so important to know His Word for yourself! We as His children can always find comfort and direction in the Lord. “You are not a God who takes pleasure in evil; with YOU the wicked cannot dwell. The arrogant cannot stand in your presence; you hate all who do wrong.”

Life at times can present many challenges. You simply at times may not know what to do or where to turn? Nor who to trust? Know without doubt; we can ALWAYS TRUST GOD! He always makes a way... Here again David shares how complex the situation is, his heart is tremendously burdened. Therefore, he turns to the Lord. Certainly, if he as King knows that the Lord will lead Him we too can trust the Lord. Never allow pride to stop you from humbling yourself before the LORD. If this has not been what you practice it is never too late to start. Prayer works. Cry out to Him as you seek Him for direction and your path forward The Lord will never lead us astray! “Lead me, O Lord, in Your righteousness because of my enemies make straight Your way before me.”

There is an unexplainable Peace that comes in trusting the Lord! Know that God does not want your heart to be troubled or afraid. When or if it is turn to Him. He is absolutely wonderful. He is the greatest, Counselor, Prince of Peace, King of Kings, everlasting Father and a mighty God, Savior & LORD! “Do not let your hearts be troubled. TRUST in GOD! TRUST also in Me…” John 14. Whenever you are feeling down and insecure know that our true “Security and Significance” can only be found in the LORD. It is in Him you can consistently feel secure. Here we can learn the value of PRAISE!

“Praise God from whom all Blessings flow, Praise Him all creatures here below…” This is great doxology used by many! When you are feeling down, forsaken or happy, praise Him. It is always still a good time to praise the LORD! He can lift up a heavy heart and a mend any broken spirit! “But all who take refuge in You will be glad; let them ever sing for Joy.”

Over the years David had developed an ongoing intimate personal relationship with the Lord. Although he did not always listen he was confident in the Lord! He knew that God was faithful and that he could always trust God to be God!

David the man and king faced many trials during his lifetime. Yet, he knew that whenever he stood firmly upon what he knew to be right in the eyes of the Lord the Lord would protect him. We want to have this same kind of relationship withthe Lord. The only way to the Lord is through Jesus Christ. You do not have to handle life on your own. You have a choice. When we unite our lives with Him we are united with God. Regardless of what is happening in your life or going on about you take some time daily and ask the Lord to fill you with His Holy Spirit throughout the day!

You do not have to be afraid when others rise up against you or attempt to slander you... Patiently wait on the Lord and seek His direction. God is a God of Faith and also of Justice we can absolutely trust Him completely! Praise the Lord throughout whatever is going on, we can be assured that His divine protection is with us. Man can do no more than the Lord allows. Whenever necessary He will step in and make His presence known. Your reputation is always safe with the Lord! “Spread your protection over them, that those who LOVE Your Name may REJOICE in YOU!”

This Psalm concludes saying: “For surely, O LORD, You Bless the righteous; You surround them with Your FAVOR as with a shield.” PRAISE GOD!!!
