Stay in the Vine!
Stay in the Vine!
Shalom!! Good morning!! I pray that all of you are basking in the glory of יהוה as am I!! It’s a beautiful day!! A day given especially for us!! Over the next twenty-four hours (1,440 minutes; 86,400 seconds), how will you honor and glorify יהוה who has given us this beautiful day!?
Yochanan (John) 15:5 [יהושﬠ (Yeshua) is speaking]--”I am the vine, you are the branches. He who stays in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit. Because without Me you are able to do naught!”
One of my pet peeves is that if you are going to do a job- a household chore, a homework assignment, a decorating project, a craft project, et cetera -you might as well do it right. I find myself screaming so much at Mark and the kids because I “have” to go behind them to do the thing right that they should have done right the first time. I have never spoken this to them, but I have thought it, “You couldn’t do anything without me!”
What this really causes within my spirit is guilt and shame because, though I did not speak it aloud, I thought it, and because I hollered at someone for not doing something the way I would have done that something.
Now, are there things that Mark cannot do without me? Well, perhaps; he could not have had Jackson or Alana without me. Does that count? I don’t know, because had we not met and married, he would have met and married someone else and had children with them. That’s a rabbit hole we won’t go down this morning.
Now, are there things that Michaela, Jackson, or Alana cannot do without me? Well, perhaps; they possibly might not be getting educated without me (we homeschool). Does that count? Probably not, because had I chosen to not homeschool, the three of them would be in a public school system.
What, then, gives me the right to scream at my family for not doing something right, or so according to my standards, when they have at least done something? And, what, then, gives me the right to even dare to think that my family can do nothing without me?
This is not true with יהושﬠ, we- I truly can do nothing without Him. I cannot even save myself from the penalty of death that I have incurred through the law of sin and death; Romiyim (Romans) 6:23--”For the wages of sin is death, but the favorable gift of Elohim is everlasting life in יהושﬠ ha-Meshiach our Master.”
If I wish to have this eternal life, I must become a branch remaining steadfast in the vine. And, if I so remain in the vine, I will remain in a firm foundation for all my life. I will bear the fruit that I am to bear (Galatiyim (Galatians) 6:22-23) and I will be an overcomer against all that would dare to remove me from the vine (Yochanan (John) 16:33). More than all of this, though, remaining in the vine will do for me what I cannot do on my own without the vine … I will be saved.
Yochanan (John) 15:1-10 …
“‘I am the true vine, and My Father is the gardener.
Every branch in Me that bears no fruit He takes away. And every branch that bears fruit He prunes, so that it bears more fruit.
You are already clean because of the Word which I have spoken to you.
Stay in Me, and I stay in you. As the branch is unable to bear fruit of itself, unless it stays in the vine, so neither you, unless you stay in Me.
I am the vine, you are the branches. He who stays in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit. Because without Me you able to do naught!
If anyone does not stay in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up. And they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.
If you stay in Me, and My Words stay in you, you shall ask whatever you wish, and it shall be done for you.
In this My Father is esteemed, that you bear much fruit, and you shall be My taught ones.
As the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you. Stay in My love.
If you guard My commands, you shall stay in My love, even as I have guarded My Father’s commands and stay in His love.’” (TS2009)
