Stress & Wars in the End Times

Updated on November 21, 2014

by Amber Maccione

1 Timothy 3:1 (ESV) – But understand this that in the last days there will come times of difficulty.

Stress is a huge issue in today’s world. In the past five years, America has been hit hard with unemployment, the housing market, and uncertainty with the budget crisis on Capital Hill. It would be an understatement to say that Americans have experienced difficult times. And if you talk to most Americans, it is still pretty difficult. I personally have a college degree and am working on another, and yet I cannot find work. Either I am overqualified or do not have enough experience in the field. And when it comes to secretarial jobs, I seem to be competing with over 300 people. Some places in America are better than others (like out West, according to my friend who moved out there a few years ago).

War on Syria?

Matthew 24:6-7a (ESV) – And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom,

Let’s see, how many wars have we heard about? The war that Bush had us get into because it was thought Iraq and Iran were hiding nuclear weapons. Did we find any? No. Then there was the war in Afghanistan. And of course, there is the war between the Jews and the Muslims. Then there are the threats of terrorist attacks in America and around the world. The news media terrified us with the threat of North Korea and their nuclear weapons. And now, we are thinking of attacking Syria because of the chemical weapons that Syrian government used on its people.

Are we in the End Times?

It seems to me with the level of stress in our daily lives and the uncertainty that the economy and job market hold, that we could be seeing what Jesus prophesied about so long ago.

Also, with the talk everyday about something else going on in the Middle East and troops being sent to this location or that to fight a war that we as Americans seem to know little about, it would seem that the prophecy about the rumors of war is being fulfilled right before our eyes and the set up for the Antichrist's arrival is almost complete.

So will the next thing as we see as Christians, the Antichrist's contract that brings world peace? I don't know. I do not claim to know when Christ will return, but I do know He told us the signs to be looking for. It seems to be, that those signs are here.

Yes, agree. With Adam and Eve's sin, sin entered the world and began its wreckage on the world God created.

Has there ever really been peace and contentment in this world? Once Adam and Eve had to leave the Garden of Eden the rest, well you know.

      Voted interesting.

Ephesians 6 : 12 say For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world- rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Wherefore take up the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand.

Stand therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; withal taking up the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one.

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: with all prayer and supplication praying at all seasons in the Spirit, and watching thereunto in all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.
