Striving To Be A Drop Of Good In The Ocean...
Remind Me 'I Am Good'
I recently heard of an African tribe that does the most beautiful thing.
When someone does something hurtful and wrong, they take the person to the center of town, and the entire tribe comes and surrounds them. For two days they’ll tell the person every good thing they have ever done.
The tribe believes that every human being comes into the world as Good, each of us desiring safety, love, peace, happiness.
But sometimes in the pursuit of those things people make mistakes. The community sees misdeeds as a cry for help.
They band together for the sake of their 'fellow man' to hold them up, to reconnect them with their true Nature, to remind them who they really are, until they fully remember the truth from which they had temporarily been disconnected: "I AM GOOD".
Be The Change You Want To See...
In June of 2011 started a wee 'cultural experiment' on Facebook. I decided I would not join anything negative AT ALL (including no anti this or that groups (harder than it sounds)), make no negative comments (harder still :D) - and ONLY share positive, uplifting and empowering messages daily! Even in groups that I was a tad concerned they would think 'what the heck?!!' (lol).
I stopped playing all games too. The interesting thing is I was been inundated with friend requests and went from around 200 to over 3000 'friends' in 3 weeks - interesting.
These new friends are like-minded and all on their own spiritual path, however we share the same wave of growing human consciousness.
It is now over three years since I have been following this path, and my life has changed...completely!
I am living the life I always dreamed of; painting and creating every day; in a wonderful relationship with a loving and caring man; have amazing relationships with friends and family, and live in an incredible part of the world surrounded by nature!
At the beginning of this idea, I did not even stop to think of the impact it may or may not have on my life and those that surround me; time has proven to me that the power of positive thinking and giving gratitude on a daily basis TRULY brings about positive change! Not only for yourself, but for those that are around you and surround you...
It is my belief that contrary to what the media might like us to think, people ARE good and THIRST for good. So I choose to strive to be a drop in the ocean that will quench this thirst!
