How to Achieve Success and Fulfillment- Jesus' Approach
Jesus' Approach to Success in Life
THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO SUCCESS AND FULFILMENT
Have you ever wonder how people achieve greatness in life and ministry? What makes certain people successful and some others unsuccessful, even when they do similar things? Well, this article will help you answer some salient questions of your heart. You will learn how you can achieve success both in your personal life and in your ministry.
Interestingly, these might not be an ultimate rule to success. Still, I can assure you that it is the complete summary of Jesus’ teaching on success. This article is a three (3) step guide on how to move higher in the ladder of success.
- DENY YOURSELF-
Jesus Christ is the greatest teacher in human history. He has the full knowledge about God and humanity because He was God in the flesh when He came to earth. All his teaches are ultimately pure truth and perfect instruction.
The Bible says:
"Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me."
Clearly, Jesus made it known to us from the scriptures that you cannot walk in his shoes without self-denial. One of His philosophies is that to become a leader, you must learn the act of service (Matthew 20:26-27). Service precedes leadership and success. Interestingly, service to humanity is what makes great people because they had understood the concept of self-denial, which Jesus taught us.
Your self-denial is God reliance. The moment you stop thinking about what you will gain and become selfless to proffer solutions to people's problems, then you have taken a step further to greatness. Nobody gets to the top in life that does not provide services or solutions to humanity problem.
It will interest you to know that God does not drag people to the top; He takes them through processes that are in stepwise order. You cannot jump steps. Therefore, it's high time you yield your totality to God if you desire greatness in life.
Many people want God to move on their behalf, and at the same time, they want to receive the Glory for the move of God. God only takes over when you throw your hands up in surrender to Him.
Now, let us consider the net step Jesus gave to us.
2. TAKE UP YOUR CROSS-
Many people who would have achieved great feat early in their life never did much. The reason is that they had allowed their youthful, exuberant take over them. If you cannot take away your mind and eyes from your fantasy, then it might take you some time to hit your goal of success in life.
But how would you take away your eyes from your fantasy if you do not have a greater need that will keep you in focus? Exactly, for you to be passionate, optimistic, focused, and directional in life, you must have a great burden in your heart that drives you more than anything else.
When I say burden, I mean something bigger than you, which you must carry through life until you find fulfillment. Just like the words of Jesus in Matthew 16:24-25, a cross is a burden of responsibility that makes you dissatisfied with life until you discharge your responsibility to the world entirely to the last letter. Without a sense of responsibility to your world, life isn't worth living. You owe your world a duty that you must fulfill.
The Bible talks about the burden of Jesus in this manner:
"...who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."
What is the Burden?
Your burden indicates your assignment, and it shows you a task you must fulfill. Let your burden be your drive. Soon, you will arrive at your destination.
3. FOLLOW YOUR LEADER-
Leadership is not just being at the forefront for a ceremonial reason. It is more than that. Leadership is the ability to clear the path for others to follow. Those whom you look up to in life determine the direction your life will go. The truth of the matter is that those you follow determine what follows you in life. Who is your mentor? Who is leading you? Be careful in your choice of mentors or leaders you subject yourself to.
When you are under the right leaders, it becomes easy for you to ride through life even amidst the storm of life. Mentors help you to move up faster than you would have done yourself. Having someone to follow on your path to success helps you to guide every step you take. Hence, follow right. Learn as much as you can, but do not copy, because of your uniqueness.
God bless you!
