Loving Messages

Motherpeace- Messages From the Universe

Have you ever wished for guidance to help sort out the trials, tribulations, hopes and dreams that life presents to us every day?

Tarot cards are a unique and refreshing option to help us take a look at what the Universe has in store for us.

All you need is an open mind and a deck of Tarot cards.

I prefer the Motherpeace deck. The Motherpeace cards are round and come in two sizes. I have small hands so I use the smaller size deck.

There is no real mystery to reading the cards. I find the teachings are in the pictures. When you study the pictures and learn to relate them to their position in the layout you are well on your way to deciphering the messages the Universe is sending you.

The more you read your cards, the clearer the messages become. I believe there are external forces at work. If you are receptive you will reap the benefit of being able to clearly see the messages in the cards.

The Fool

Motherpeace - My Deck of Choice

There are many Tarot decks to choose from. I cut my teeth on the Ryder-Waite deck.. Over time I found the images on many of the cards to be dark and foreboding. A few years ago I came across the Motherpeace deck and fell in love with the vibrant colors and uncomplicated images. I also like the card interpretations. I recognise there is positive and negative in all aspects of life, living and death.

I choose to hear the teachings in a gentle way. I feel this is what the Motherpeace deck provides.

Motherpeace Three Card Spread

A Simple Spread

There are three cards in this quick spread.

The three cards in this spread are used to indicate your Past-Present-Future.

The meaning of the first card reveals the context of your personal self, the essence of who you are in this moment.

The second card reveals what is happening in your present, the focus of your energies, what is occupying your thought process and influencing your decisions.

The third card, in the future spot, reveals the outcome of the reading. It depicts future events. All future events are influenced by our own attitudes, beliefs and desire for growth and change. So this third card depicts future events as they are laid out if we stay on course. If your life is going well, by all means stay the course. If the future card indicates less than favorable events, the Universe may be telling you that you may want/need to alter your course a bit, seek a more positive direction.

The meanings of the cards are intended to assist one in looking at the issues of the day, and perhaps awaken the seeker to stumbling blocks that may prevent one from moving forward in a positive way. I do not believe there are any hidden, deep and dark meanings in tarot cards.

I believe there are many messages for us in tarot cards, but none of them are written in stone. We need to be sure we are navigating our own course.

Taking Care of Your Cards

Tarot cards are a precious source of information form the Universe. I believe they need to be treated with respect and stored accordingly. It is my understanding that tarot cards need to be wrapped in silk for safe keeping and to preserve their energy. I have my cards wrapped in a silk flying scarf that belonged to my Grandfather during the 2nd World War. I am certain his energy is evident and sometimes influences my readings.

Positive & Negative Messages

A good tarot card reader has learned to listen to and trust their intuition. The images on the cards are the key to uncovering the messages offered in the layout.

When you choose to look for negative interpretations that is what you will find.

When you choose to look for the positive messages, they will show themselves in abundance.

Both positive and negative messages can be interpreted in a positive way when you learn to trust your intuition.

I attempt to clear my mind and read the cards with neither positive or negative emotion attached to the outcome. Sometimes dark energy shows up in a reading but quite simply, there is dark energy in our lives. There is always a balance of light energy and dark energy.

How we choose to process and deal with energy, light or dark is what gives our life events power, or lack of. We have freedom of choice to decide if we are going to nurture the light or the dark.

Tarot Reading Instructions

Tarot card readings depend on how much of your energy you are able to make available, and your level of willingness to believe their may be valuable messages to be found in the cards laid.

Pick up your deck, or the reader's deck and begin the shuffle them. As you are shuffling think about your day ahead. Think about the chores, responsibilities and fun you hope to incorporate into your day. If you are going for a bank loan focus on that. If you plan on vegging on the couch watching soaps and eating bon-bons, think about that! Be as honest, accurate and clear as you are able in your thoughts while shuffling the deck.

If you are having a challenging time with something, be it personal or professional, anything to do with the immediate people, places and things in your life, focus on that.

When you feel the cards have been sufficiently shuffled, place the deck face down and cut them three times to the left with your left hand. Starting on the right, pick up the piles, still face down, one at a time.

One at a time, draw the top three cards from the deck, placing the first one down face up, the second face up beside the first card. Draw the third card and place it face up and below the two cards you have already pulled from the top of the deck.

Below are the results of one of my recent three card spreads.

The first card I drew, representing my past, was the Ace of Discs. Aces relate to gifts, something coming into being. Discs relate to 'work' and the 'real world'. Getting the Ace of Discs in this position that represents the past, indicates to me a financial opportunity I may have let slip through my fingers due to insecurities about my abilities and perhaps the inability to commitment to a job or task.

The second card I drew was also an Ace, the Ace of Swords. Going with the theory that Aces relate to gifts, something coming into being, tells me I again have an opportunity to profit financially and emotionally from my present endeavors. The Ace of Swords indicates a choice to succeed. The opportunity is still being offered to me by the Universe. Today I will choose to succeed.

The final card I drew, the card representing the future, is the World. The World is one of 22 Major Arcana cards.

There are 78 cards total in the Motherpeace tarot deck.

The 56 remaining cards are referred to as the Minor Arcana. They are divided into four suits, Swords, Wands, Cups and Discs.

As I mentioned the card in the third position reveals the Future. The World is a great card to get in this position. Th World card essentially depicts the endless cyclic movement of the Universe. Key messages and completion and self-acceptance. Getting this card, in this position, indicates to me that I will succeed in my endeavors in direct relation to how much time, thought and positive energies I put into the lessons being offered to me.

To sum it up, I'd say it was an uplifting and positive little reading to start my day off.

If you are interested in a quick three card reading, message me with a few generic details like your gender and ballpark age. I will toss the cards and see what messages I can see to share with you.

Make it a great day.
