Thats Just the Way It Is

Updated on December 27, 2011

Watching the News

While watching the evening news I was appalled at the news item of a thirty nine year old family friend who had cared for the victims grandfather killing and dismembering her nine year old daughter who he had been babysitting for. First thought was that I could not understand how anyone let alone a family friend could do something so horrible. Next I thought of the top news story last week. A young man who had been taken in and cared for by a family for several years. Their children called him uncle although he was not related. He and another came back during the day to rob the family. His best friend and his niece were the only ones home at the time. The niece a seven year old who called him uncle and his best friend were shot in the head for asking why. I am fortunate for not knowing how someone could do such a thing for that would mean I have the same mind. These stories impact us sometimes more at the holidays but any time of the year it is disturbing when we think of how awful mankind can be when we lust for things we cannot attain. Weather it be for money sex or fame I am told it is being part of the animal kingdom and is natural. Every living being kills for food sex or power and that is life. One would think that human beings are supposed to be superior to all others and we would be above it. My faith in God makes me give thanks for what I am and I thank God that I cannot understand the actions of the few who do such horrible things. May God always keep my mind in this ignorance.

Thank you for your comments. They are very good. What I meant was all animals in every form from the little bird to man himself kill for those reasons. That is my opinion, but man himself has the power to rise above that. I say amen that God has redeemed us and we should do all we can so others can hear the news but too many time it fall on deaf ears and we have all seen the results of that. Again I thank you for all your comments. The response I get is what lets me know others are listening. I welcome any and all comments.

There are some horrible people in this world. There are also a lot of loving, generous and caring ones. I believe we still outweigh the evil ones. Perhaps that is why Jesus has not returned yet. I agree with you. I pray I keep my abhorrence for the evil of the world and remain forever turned and yearning toward Heaven.

I must day that I do not agree with your statement "Every living being kills for food sex or power and that is life." That is life in the flesh of Satan's world. God has redeemed many of us from that.

I agree with you completely. I was shocked to hear about the little girl being dismembered. What kind of man could do this?...
