The Belief System

Updated on February 21, 2014

We are taught so many different things in life and some are stored into our belief system. Sometimes the things that are stored hinders us in many ways. Such as; our beliefs in the infrastructure of faith. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing the word of God. Meaning, your faith is the core of your belief system. This could be both good and bad. Its good because you have the measure of faith or belief thats needed to ensure that your belief system runs as it should. The bad, having faith as the core in a corrupted belief system, especially if beliefs are not supported by the word of God, remember. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing the word of God, will have you believing something so strongly and its wrong. With this being said, faith is right, but can be used wrongly when you have wrong information stored in your system.

The only true source.
The only true source.

Your belief system controls how you perceive life and everything in it. The information you store into this system will automatically send signals to your heart when you approach something that is stored and produces a reaction according to what you believe. Your beliefs create a world that only you share in because its a place where your thoughts, feelings, beliefs are stored. This is like your own little reservoir for information. Your belief system is triggered when something or someone says or does something that either agree or disagree with what's stored. How is information stored?

Information is stored into your belief system starting with your sensory motor; your five senses. Your five senses follows under the category; the tangible. In this case, the tangible are usually your surroundings. From here information moves into your short term memory section where you are trying to relate information that you may already have stored. At this phase the new information is trying to find a place to connect to move forward. Finally, when information makes it past this phase it is stored longterm. When information makes it to this realm, its usually because information connects with something already stored.

The foundation of your belief system comes from how you were raised and instilled in you. This is why Parents are instructed to train up their children so that when they are old enough to understand life for themselves, they won't forget about God. Parents play a really important role in the developmental process of your belief system as does the child. The bible instructs the child to obey their parents for this is right simply because your belief system is at stake. Obeying their friends at such fragile ages is not the best.

When things that are stored become hazardous to your existence, you are forced into a process where information may have to be erased.

Erasing the past

We are taught by many around us what's considered right and wrong. Sometimes never stopping to seek the source, the bible, which gives clear direction. Being bombarded by others beliefs can cause a system crash. When systems crash there is a need for a reload and an update of software. Systems failures are associated with confusion. Knowing, God is not the author of confusion. When this happens, everything you believed has to be erased and stored again. This is were we have to allow God to step in to replace the wrong with the right. The wrong is considered all things that were taught wrongly and may be right, and the right taught that may be wrong. This has to be established before further damage is done.

The Damage

The damage done by our own beliefs is serious. The damage consist of believing something that was never true. For instance, the worldly saying "sex is ok before marriage, as along as, you wrap it up." This is wrong information to send out to people. Sex is a spiritual act. The word of God; Holy Bible instructs us not to have sex before marriage. The consequences of this is the result of many bad relationships and covenants(marriages) due to experiencing such a serious act without validation. Meaning, sex seals the covenant. Its like signing on the dotted line as a approval to God saying, what you have given me, I approve.

Saying all this to say, be careful what you store in your belief system.

Biblical Reference

Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

Matthew 17:20 And He said to them, "Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it shall move; and nothing shall be impossible to you.

1 Peter 1:21 who through Him are believers in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.

Philemon 1:6- NIV I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ.

1 Corinthians 7:1-40 Now concerning the matters about which you wrote: “It is good for a man not to have sexual relations with a woman.” But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband. The husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband. For the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. Do not deprive one another, except perhaps by agreement for a limited time, that you may devote yourselves to prayer; but then come together again, so that Satan may not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

Ephesians 5:5 For you may be sure of this, that everyone who is sexually immoral or impure, or who is covetous (that is, an idolater), has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

After reading this, does your belief system need work?
